Kako first met Ash and his friends after the watermelons that were cooling off got loose of the net they were stored in and floated down river to where they were swimming.

After Ash and Dawn accepted the double battle, she sent out her Beautify to battle. She was impressed at how strong Pikachu and Piplup were as they managed to defeat her Beautifly and Kanta's Heracross.

As the previously agreed, Kanta and Kako shared their watermelons with Ash and his friends and they had lunch together.

After the battle between Arcues and the God Pokemon had ended and the Jewel of Life was returned, Kako watched as the world around her began to be instantly rejuvenated.
