Brendan is the male protagonist or Rival for Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, OmegaRuby, and AlphaSapphire. If chosen as the player, Brendan moves from Kanto with his mom and Norman, picks a starter Pokémon, goes and gets Gym Badges, stops Team Magma or Aqua, and becomes Hoenn Champion. If not chosen, he is instead the son of Professor Birch.
In the main series anime, he made a cameo in Movie 7.
