Kabu is a Gym Leader of the Galar Region, focusing on the Fire Type. He is the passionate, strong and experienced Gym Leader of Motostoke, beloved by the citizens!

In Pokémon Horizons, Roy went to visit him as he was told that he might have some information about the Black Rayquaza. Since he is originally from the Hoenn region, it was thought that he might know about the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza because it was also from the Hoenn region. He said he was jogging one morning and saw it fly over and saw it head west towards the Galar Mine.

He did some training with Roy and Liko and then battled against Liko's Sprigatito and Roy's Fuecoco in a Training Double Battle with Wakaba.

In Pokemon: Twilight Wings, Kabu made several cameo appearances. Jogging in Motostoke Stadium, having an interview about Leon, and eventually participating in the Galarian Star Tournament alongside the other Gym Leaders.
