Masako is the manager of the Rogue cafe that Madoka Akagi frequents. She helps brings focus into Madoka's life. Her son is Sora Karasawa.

Her name comes from the Rougela that is named Masako (まさこ) which players can get in a trade for a Nyorozo in Hanada City in Red/Green. The Rogue cafe name is also based off of Rougela. Her actress Erika Sato also posed for a promo picture holding a Rougela plushie and the background in the opening credits features a silhouette of Rougela.
