Luana is the owner of a grand hotel on Kumquat Island which allows its visitor to relax in luxury and even contrains a dance studio and workout gym for Pokémon.

Luana is also the Gym Leader for Kumquat island and her hotel doubles up as a Gym Arena where she likes to hold double battle against any challengers.

Luana has a son called Travis who is traveling as a Pokémon trainer. He bears a striking resemblance to Ash Ketchum and even carries a Pikachu around on his shoulder.
