The Pokémon Company released Romantic Spice: The Legend of Capsaiji, the seventh video in the eight-week Pokémon animated series POKÉTOON, on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024 at 18:00 on the official Pokémon YouTube channel, Instagram and TikTok.

I thought it was wonderful that it could be taken either way, depending on the viewer's interpretation of the line! Also, seeing Capsaiji grow up after meeting Akira, was very moving!

3. What is the Pokémon anime series POKÉTOON?

The POKÉTOON series are short anime episodes that focuses on one Pokémon in each work, drawing out its charm to the fullest while depicting original stories and diverse art unique to the series. Starting with Zuruggu and Mimikkyu in 2020, the eight episodes were released on YouTube and have been viewed more than 82 million times worldwide (as of September 4th, 2024). The new series, which has been released sequentially since September 2024, includes four horizontal anime episodes as well as four easy-to-enjoy vertical anime episodes. Every Wednesday at 6 p.m., one of the horizontal or vertical episodes will be released on the official Pokémon YouTube channel, Instagram, and TikTok.

【カプサイジ役・井上喜久子（いのうえ きくこ）さんコメント】
暴れん坊でカプっカプっとすぐに噛みつき困ったところの多いカプサイジですが、アキラちゃんに出会い、新たな一歩を踏み出します！
ハバネロポケモンなので一瞬映るピザのシーンや、頑張っている姿、涙が溢れるシーンなど…… 見どころ満載です。
アキラちゃんのおかげで成長していくカプサイジの姿を、ぜひ皆様も一緒に応援していただけたら嬉しいです！

1分という短い時間かもしれませんが、その中に、アキラちゃんとカプサイジの物語がギュッと詰まっています。
見どころはたくさんあるのですが、アキラちゃんの最後のセリフがとても好きです！
そこから2人の新たな旅が始まっていくのか、旅の途中いろいろなことを経て、絆が生まれての言葉なのか、どちらとも取れる、観てくださった方の解釈次第のセリフになっているところがステキだな〜と思いました！
また、アキラちゃんに出会って成長していくカプサイジを見ると、ジーンとくるものがありました！

そのカプサイジは、やんちゃで気に入らないとすぐ相手を噛んじゃって、いつのまにか森でひとりぼっちに。引っ越しで友達やチームメイトと遠く離れた女の子、アキラも、ちょっとひとりぼっち。
出会ったカプサイジとアキラは、ポケモンバトルや遊びや何度も仲違いと仲直りを繰り返して、心を通わせていきます。でもある日、怪しいバトルに巻き込まれてしまい？
1980年代にポケモンアニメがあったら……そんなコンセプトの短編、楽しんでいただけると幸いです。
