OK folks, so here's the deal: I've managed to secure an interview with Mike Pollock which will be featured here on PocketMonsters.net as well as PPNStudio, and as most of you will know Mike is best known as the 2nd Announcer in the Pokemon English dub as well as the role of Dr. Eggman in the Sonic X series and numerous recent Sonic games.

What I would like from all of you guys interested in doing this is to submit any question you would like us to ask Mr. Pollock, and these questions don't have to be limited to 'Pokemon' only. We'd like for as many interesting questions as possible, so please submit your entry here on this thread.

The interview will be conducted on October 11th, so please have any and all questions submitted by the 7th to allow for sufficient time to sort out the entries in a prioritized manner.

Regards,
inu-liger

Also, here is a list of Mike's voice acting work, in case anyone would like to know what else he has worked on:

For some question ideas, here's an older interview with Mike conducted by Sonic Retro:

Ok here's a few (well more than but feel free to pick from the bunch)

Q: Having dubbed for various Anime shows, do you get to watch the original Japanese version first and if so do you use the Japanese voices as a basis for how a character should sound. Or do you/the director come up with how you think they should sound.

Q: Do you watch everything that your in? for example would you only watch the episodes of Pokémon that you have voiced for or also those that you are not in.

Q:Following on from the last question in the case of Dr Eggman, Have you played any of the console games that you have voiced for?

Q:Have you met Craig Smith and Kate Higgins who are voicing Sonic & Tails from now on and what do you think to their interpretation of the characters having previously worked alongside previous voice actors for the characters; Jason Griffith and Amy Pallant.

Two questions:

What made you want to do voice acting as a career?

And

Was there a voice actor, past or present, that influenced you to do voice acting?

Here's my question:
What do you think of the new Pokemon: Best Wishes show that just aired in Japan? Anyways, Ash has a new outfit, he has two new friends traveling with him, Iris, and Dento, and he now has brown eyes.

Another question:
Why did you replace the first narrator in Advanced Generation?

Well, here are some questions I came up with.

Question 1:
Since you were cast as a voice actor for the Pokemon series, both by 4Kids (as the narrator in Pokemon: Advance Generation) and PUSA (as Mr. Contesta and Charon in Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl), have you noticed a difference in how each of them handled (and still handles as far as PUSA is concerned) the dub of Pokemon?

Question 2:
Having worked on the Pokemon series, do you think that it is something addressed only to children and pre-teens (as is the common notion these days), or do you reckon it can also appeal to people in their twenties and thirties too? (In other words, do you think Pokemon is a kids' show?)

Question 3:
Do you like Pokemon? What is your favorite episode of the series, if you have watched any?

Question 4:
Do you decide the style of the voice a character (that you voice) will have? If yes, how do you come up with the different styles of voicing characters? Is it something spontaneous, or something that you decide after you have read more into the character you're voicing?

Question 5:
What would you advise someone who wants to pursue a voice-acting career? Would you try to persuade them into or dissuade them from following such a career?

Question 6:
Was there ever a case of you really wanting to lend your voice to a character, so much so that you rejected another role in the same show because of not getting the role you wanted?

Question 7:
Was there ever a case of you not wanting to voice a character, but accepting the part because the payment was too good to pass up?

Question 8:
Is there a character you really want to voice, but haven't had the chance yet?

Question 9:
Does voice-acting provide you with job satisfaction or do you regard it solely as a source of income?

Question 10:
When it was decided that you would take over the work of Rodger Parsons, were you, in any way, influenced by how he voiced the narrator in the way you chose to voice the same character afterwards?

Do you ever watch the finished product for shows that you do voices in?

For Pokemon, would you record your voice by yourself or did you record with other voice actors from the show in a group recording?

Are you pleased with that people recognize you for your work in the Pokemon series?

You are best known to Pokemon fans as the voice of the narrator and Mr. Contesta but are there other characters that you voiced on the show that fans might not know that you were voicing them?

What are your current projects and shows that you are doing voice acting work for?
