An advertisement that is making the rounds online has revealed that Genesect will be available for a limited time starting in October. Genesect will be available for English players of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 from October 7th, 2012 until November 12th, 2012 via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.


Genesect was first officially revealed in the August 2012 Corocoro in Japan. Genesect was distributed in Japan on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and Nintendo Zones for players of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 from August 11th, 2012 until September 14th, 2012.

Update: Nintendo Europe has announced that the distribution will start in Europe on October 12th, 2012.

Strange that this event would start before the games are released (in the UK).... still, it's good news it's not yet another of those crappy in-stores event!

October just won't come quickly enough, will it.

Serebii is reporting that "GAME are stating that they will be distributing Genesect to Black 2 & White 2 players from the day of release." So looks like there will be a way to get Genesect at stores in the UK at least.

The Genesect you'll get is a Level 15 Pokémon with the Magnet Bomb, SolarBeam, and Signal Beam moves, plus its signature Techno Blast attack. And Genesect comes in a colorful Cherish Ball, a reflection of how the Pokémon was obtained.

English Wi-fi events work with all English games, the event just "starts" the 12th in Europe because that's when the games that can access it are released there. Can't get the event if you don't have a game.
