Biography
Jessie landed near the official trade station after James and the Magikarp Salesman came running through. Benny wanted to trade his Wobbuffet for a stronger Pokémon but Jessie accidentally traded her Lickitung for Benny's Wobbuffet after her Poké ball fell out of her pocket and onto the machine and she picked up the wrong Poké ball.
Ash Ketchum and his friends weren't able to realize that the girl Benny traded his Wobbuffet was Jessie despite having just battled her. Benny wanted to find her and offer her his gratitude for trading and to make sure she took good care of Wobbuffet. Benny though that Lickitung was really cute and it seemed to like Benny as well.
