The Pokémon Company held the Pokémon Press Conference: Future Plans for Indonesia 2025 at the Fairmont Jakarta on January 23rd, 2025. They announced a collaboration with the Indonesian national team football team, a Pikachu Jet GA 2 with Garuda Indonesia, that Pikachu's Indonesia Journey will return for 2025, the first Indonesian song for the Horizons anime and that Pokémon MEZASTAR would launch in the country.

“In 2024, we met many people in various cities in Indonesia and realized Indonesia is a vast country. Perhaps some haven’t had the chance to meet Pikachu, and we want to meet more friends in Indonesia. Therefore, in 2025, we have five flagship programs,” explained Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer of The Pokémon Company Japan.

Pokémon and PSSI Special Project Begins!

The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) in partnership with PT Garuda Sepak Bola Indonesia (GSI) announced that Pikachu and Cinderace will wear Indonesian football uniforms to support local football activities, there will be a Pokémon Day friendly match featuring the Indonesian U-23 national team, and they will be holding U-14 and U-16 tournaments at the Hydro Plus Piala Pertiwi. A football learning video featuring Indonesian national team players with Pikachu and Cinderace will also be produced.

Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey 2025

The Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey returns for 2025 and will start first at Delipark Mall in Medan in late April 2025 which will feature various events such as a Pikachu stage show and a tutorial for the Pokémon Card Game! The journey is also scheduled to visit Bekasi, Bandung, Semarang, and Palembang.

Pokémon Horizon: Season 2

Pokémon Horizon: Season 2 (Pokémon Horizon Season 2 Pencarian Laqua) is scheduled to air on Mentari TV in April 2025. It was announced that Isyana Sarasvati composed the opening theme called, Makna Dunia (The Meaning of the World), which was showcased at the press conference.
