Welcome to Pokémon GO Summer Quest

Trainers,
Get ready! To celebrate 10 years of Pokémon GO, we’re turning the area around The Green at Boxpark in Shoreditch, London into a real-world Pokémon GO playground with the Pokémon GO Summer Quest event on August 1–2 and August 8–9.

Note: The stickers shown on the key art are artistic elements only and will not be available as in-game stickers during this event.

Pokémon GO Summer Quest local gameplay and rewards

Free Timed Research will be available to Trainers exploring the event area around Shoreditch. Please refer to the map below for the exact event boundaries.

Trainers will be able to access this free Timed Research by opening Pokémon GO in the event area between August 1 at 10:00 a.m. and August 2 at 11:59 p.m., or between August 8 at 10:00 a.m. and August 9 at 11:59 p.m.

Once obtained, Trainers will have until August 31 at 11:59 p.m. local time to complete this Timed Research and claim all in-game rewards.

Local Reward

Once you’ve completed the first stage of the local Timed Research, you can head over to the Pokémon GO pop-up coffee station at The Green at Boxpark and show the barista your progress to redeem a free coffee.* Coffees will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The pop-up will only be open on August 1–2 and 8–9 between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time.

*Please keep the Pokémon GO app open until you've shown the barista that you’ve completed the first stage of the Timed Research, as closing the app may cause display issues.

Local Event Grand Prize Opportunity

Participating Trainers will also have the opportunity to win a five-night hotel stay for two in Japan, including flights. To enter, follow these steps.

3. Share your “What’s Your Favorite?” post on Instagram using #pokemongosummerquest

Nationwide Gameplay & Prize Opportunity

Even if you can’t make it to London, you can still join the Summer Quest celebration and be part of our 10-year anniversary festivities.

From August 1 at 10:00 a.m. local time until August 9 at 11:59 p.m. local time, Trainers across the UK will automatically receive a free Summer Quest Timed Research, which can be found on the Events tab.

Once obtained, Trainers will have until August 31 at 11:59 p.m. local time to complete it and claim all in-game rewards.

Nationwide Grand Prize Opportunity

Trainers who complete the nationwide Timed Research will have the chance to win a trip for two to Pokémon GO Fest 2027 in Europe, including round-trip flights and a three-night hotel stay.

Please note: Eligible Trainers can participate in both the local Timed Research and the nationwide Timed Research, but they will be able to win only one prize. If a Trainer is selected as a winner in both prize draws, only one prize will be awarded, and an alternate winner will be selected for the other prize.

Meet Your Favorite Creators

We challenged Miniminter and Chunkz to a Pokémon GO race across London. They’ll go head-to-head, catch Pokémon, complete challenges, and battle it out in an exciting race.

You can meet them on August 1, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at our pop-up at The Green at Boxpark. Stop by and take the opportunity to meet them in person, learn more about their race, and swap Pokémon GO tips and tricks with fellow Trainers.

Entries must be posted on social media by 11:59 p.m. (local time) on August 31, 2026. The winners will be selected at random from eligible entries received, and they will be contacted by September 30, 2026.

The draw will be conducted by Niantic or its designated agent. The Japan grand prize must be booked by June 1, 2027. The prize includes round-trip flights from the UK to Tokyo, Japan, and a hotel for five nights. The total approximate retail value of the prize: £5,000. The nationwide grand prize is valid only for Pokémon GO Fest 2027 in Europe and cannot be deferred to a later year. The prize includes round-trip transportation from the UK and a three-night hotel stay in the European host city of Pokémon GO Fest 2027. The host city will be announced at a later date. The GO Fest prize must be booked by June 1, 2027. The total approximate retail value of the prize: £2,000.

All other expenses are not covered. The winners of the local and nationwide grand prize are solely responsible for obtaining appropriate travel insurance and ensuring they are fit to travel.
