Bosses:

Pokémon Ranger features boss Pokémon that show up at various times in the game, mainly at the end of a major mission. Many of these boss characters can be used by the player by summoning it using its Ranger sign. Players can battle these bosses again after the 'Padma needs Electric Energy' (パネアのために でんりょくを) mission is complete through the use of Padma's simulator located in Talga's house.

Picture Description
Boss Near the beginning of the game, players encounter Celebi in Kokona Village near a shrine. The villagers explain that something strange is occurring near the shrine in the village and it appears right above it. After players capture it, Celebi will appears throughout the game and take players into the past.

Boss At the end of the 'Go to the Radio Base and Report!' (むせんきちを かいほうせよ!) mission, players reach the top of the Radio Base which the Pokémon Nappers have secured the Radio Base. Electrical currents are playing havoc for the Nappers and the surrounding Pokémon. Raikou arrives as Blue Eye moves out of the way as it destroys the tower. The Player can then capture Raikou and learn its Ranger Sign.

Boss At the end of the 'Investigating the old Mansion!'(ふるいやしきをちょうさせよ!) mission, players encounter the Pokémon Nappers and one of their leaders, Blue Eye (リーダー ブルーアイ). After defeating the boss, Blue Eye's Meganium, players find the book they were looking for.

Boss Players venture through the Asahi Ruins on Milonda Island. While in the ruins, players are required to activate ancient statues that generate and light beams that lower stone walls allowing people to venture further into the ruins and eventually reach Entei' monument. Entei appears and Red Eye attempts to capture it. After Red Eye's attempt, players can then capture Raikou and learn its Ranger Sign.

Boss During the 'Obstruct Blue Eye's Strategy!' (ブルーアイのさくせんを そしせよ!) mission players reach the bridge where Blue Eye sends out a Feraligatr to attempt to stop the Pokémon Rangers. Feraligatr's Ranger sign was revealed during the beginning of Pocket Monsters Diamond and Pearl 169.

Boss During the 'Protect Fire from Capture!' (ファイヤーを てきからまもれ!) mission, the player arrives on Faldera Island (ファルデラじま) with a mission to defend Fire from being captured by Red Eye. After reaching Red Eye at the top of the volcano, players chase after him into the sky and have to defeat Charizard in a sky battle.

Boss During the 'Run after Red Eye!' (レッドアイを おいかけろ!) mission, players chase after Red Eye who is heading up Solbelas Mountain (ソルベラスやま) to capture Articuno. Players have to traverse numerous avalanches on the way up the mountain until they reach Articuno. After delaying Red Eye long enough for Articuno to fly away, he sends out a Typhlosion to battle.

Players arrive on the Shikulele Island via Staraptor and activate the first of 5 beacons located around the Oblivia region. Once all 5 beacons are activated, the player returns to Shikulele Island where Latios/Latias appears. Player chase after it on Staraptor and capture it. The Ranger Sign for Latios/Latias is now activated. Latios will appear if the player selected the male Ranger to play at the beginning otherwise Latias will appear if the player selected the female Ranger.

After battling and capturing Ho-oh its Ranger Sign is revealed.

Boss After players have completed the game and obtained all 300 Pokémon in their Ranger Browser, a Lugia mission is activated at Talga's House. The Pokémon Nappers have lost control of a situation at the Seafloor Cave and require assistance. Players are joined by Blue Eye at the sea floor and upon you returning to the boat, Lugia will challenge the player. Once captured, the Ranger sign is revealed.

Psychic Murph's Boat (After Completing the Game)
Boss In the Wifi downloadable mission, The Mysterious Eruption Investigation! (なぞのふんかをちょうさせよ!), a nearby volcano has been mysteriously erupting endangering the nearby tourists. The player is sent to investigate the cause of the eruptions which ends up being the legendary Pokémon Heatran. Once Heatran is captured, players can transfer it over to another Nintendo DS game.
