The Pokémon UNITE has posted a letter to announce the release of the game on mobile as well as posted patch notes for Version 1.2.1.3. Our Pokémon UNITE Patches page has been updated with the details.

Image

A message from the UNITE team!

Since the release of Pokémon UNITE on Nintendo Switch™, the team has enjoyed reading through all of the experiences our players have had during their adventures on Aeos Island. The topics, the details, the strategies—there’s so much even we’ve learned about our game by listening to the conversations our players have been having. Every piece of feedback has been valuable to us, whether it was constructive criticism or complimentary. We’re proud to have created an experience that has resulted in so much enthusiasm, particularly as we invite a new audience to the world of UNITE with tomorrow’s mobile launch of the game.

For both new and returning players, we’re thrilled to share some of the game updates that tomorrow also brings:

  • Full cross-platform play and account linking across mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. Link an account, and play with the same account across both platforms.
  • New in-game events in which you can get super item enhancers that can upgrade a held item to grade 30. We’ve also made it easier for all Trainers to get item enhancers.
  • New held items to introduce fresh strategies.
  • The introduction of Unite squads, allowing Trainers to team up with squadmates.
  • A second battle pass, which will feature all-new cosmetic items, including new Holowear with special visual effects.
  • The rollout of some limited Spectator Mode features.
  • Support for multiple new languages.

We’ll continue to add more playable Pokémon and make balance adjustments to both Pokémon and the maps. Trainers can anticipate new battle passes, themed events, and other compelling content to make Pokémon UNITE even more fun and rewarding. Additionally, we’re developing a new mode of play designed to level the playing field for all Trainers, regardless of their held items’ grades.

We’re dedicated to making every Unite Battle as fun and engaging as possible, and the changes above represent some of the many ways we’re working toward that goal. We look forward to continuing to hear our players’ reception and feedback as we work with all of you toward an experience that all fans can enjoy. Thank you all for your continued support and interest in Pokémon UNITE.

See you on Aeos Island, Trainers.

The Pokémon Company International Reveals Latest Innovation for the Pokémon Trading Card Game with New Pokémon TCG Live App

Pokémon TCG Gameplay Comes to Smartphones for the First Time

Today, The Pokémon Company International unveiled Pokémon TCG Live, a new app that allows Trainers to enjoy the Pokémon Trading Card Game in an updated digital format. Releasing as a free-to-play game, Pokémon TCG Live also marks the first time that the Pokémon TCG will be playable on smartphones, in addition to tablets, PCs, and Macs.

The announcement comes as The Pokémon Company International continues its yearlong celebration of the brand’s 25th anniversary by engaging fans with innovative Pokémon experiences and products.

“As we look back on 25 wonderful years of Pokémon, we are once again reminded of how the Pokémon Trading Card Game has always been a strong pillar of the franchise and beloved by young and veteran Trainers alike,” said Barry Sams, vice president of the Pokémon TCG at The Pokémon Company International. “Pokémon TCG Live will go hand in hand with the tabletop version that fans know and love, and welcomes a new era of digital play where Trainers around the world can play together regardless of their preferred platform.”

Pokémon TCG Live is designed to be easy for beginners to learn how to play the game, while offering fresh challenges for existing players to improve and test their skills. Players will be able to enjoy some of their favorite Pokémon TCG activities, including building decks and battling other Trainers around the world. They will also be able to tailor their experience with customizable avatars and Pokémon TCG accessories, participate in daily quests, and more. In addition, Pokémon TCG Live will continue to be updated with new content and features following launch.

Pokémon TCG Live will be coming soon to supported iOS and Android devices, as well as PCs and Macs via Pokemon.com. Trainers looking to preview the game prior to broad availability will be able to participate in the mobile soft launch in Canada and the global open beta for PCs and Macs later this year.
