To celebrate the opening of the Tohoku Pokémon Center store, which officially opened December 4th 2011, Pokémon Center stores all over Japan hosted a series of events featuring Pokémon Center Tohoku's three mascots Pikachu, Tsutarja and Victini. These events are also connected to "POKÉMON with YOU", the support group for children recovering from the Tohoku earthquake. A special event Tsutarja was distributed at all Pokémon Centers in Japan.


Shoko-tan ended Pokémon Smash 60 (ポケモンスマッシュ！ #60) by announcing the opening of the Pokémon Center Tohoku December 4th and promoting the Tsutarja distribution.
