The Mid-Autumn Moon is the moon usually visible starting on August 15th in the lunar calendar used in olden times. People have long enjoyed viewing the moon, offering dumplings and susuki grass to the gods to rejoice and give thanks for the autumn harvest. There is about a month gap between the lunar calendar and the Gregorian calendar, and this year the Mid-Autumn Festival will be held on September 10th, 2022.

Pippi is a Pokémon associated with the moon. It is said to be able to collect moonlight and float in the air, and that watching it dance on a full moon night will make you happy. The Moon-viewing Pippi is an event to share information and conduct projects based on the theme of Pippi and the moon. Get Moon-viewing Pippi at Pokémon Centers Nationwide in Japan!

To commemorate the Moon-viewing Pippi event, Pippi will be distributed and will be available in multiple games. Pippi has learned special moves associated with the moon and the nights sky, such as Moonblast and Zen Headbutt.


To receive Pippi, get a card with a serial code that can be picked up at Pokémon Centers nationwide from Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 to Sunday, September 11th, 2022. The card contains three serial codes that will allow you to receive Moon-viewing Pippi in the Nintendo Switch games Pokémon Sword or Shield, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, and Pokémon LEGENDS Arceus, respectively.

However, it seems that you need to do "something" with the staff at the Pokémon Center in order to receive the card... In front of a staff member, perform the Metronome move with your fingers by shaking the pointed indexed fingers back and forth. Pokémon GO - Clefairy Commotion - Saturday, September 10th, 2022!

The harvest moon is almost upon us, and it’s inspiring a gathering of a certain Fairy-type Pokémon! This year’s harvest moon is inspiring a gathering of a certain Fairy-type Pokémon! Clefairy have been spotted gathering all over the world in preparation for the full moon—it seems that a special celebration is about to begin!

On the night of Saturday, September 10, 2022, Clefairy will be appearing more often in the wild from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time. We can’t wait to see what you can find by the light of the moon!

The Pokémon Center Online will also be celebrating the Moon-viewing Pippi event by opening pre-orders for 2 Lilie figures, one featuring Cosmog and the other one featuring Pippi. They will be available to pre-order from September 9th, 2022 to October 2nd, 2022 and will be shipped in October and November of 2023. Each figure costs 15,950 yen.


Also, from September 9th, 2022 to November 2022, while supplies last, qualifying orders will receive a special shipping box featuring Pippi and its evolution chain Pokémon.

Weather News LiVE - Pippi appears in the Mid-Autumn Full Moon Special Program!

The Weather News LiVE broadcast, the Mid-Autumn Full Moon Special Program was shown live on September 10th, 2022 from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. JST on YouTube. Pippi appeared as a guest on the program, and there was many ways to enjoy viewing the moon together with the audience which also showcased the relationship between Pippi and the moon. The broadcasts MC was Airi Yamagishi (山岸愛梨).

In addition, the viewer project, which could only be participated in only during the program broadcast, called for pictures with the moon and Pippi as the theme! If you submitted an image via "Weather Report" in the "Weather News" app, 20 people will be selected by lottery to receive Pippi items as a present.
