Tomy today announced a new arcade game called Pokemon Battrio. Pokemon Battrio is a 3D cell-shaded arcade game that is due to be launched in Japan sometime in July. The game revolves around 3 on 3 battles which is a first for the Pokemon franchise.

First of all, the player calls Pokemon by placing 3 chips on the board. Next, players move the chips on the board according to suitable formation for the turn of "Attack" and "Defense". The Pokemon chip placed closest to the other team is the attacker and the chips furthest away are the defenders. The victory or defeat of the battle is decided in Pokemon's compatibility and the effect of the formation. When the other party's physical strength reaches 0 the player wins.

The Pokemon that will appear in this game is limited to 36, but that number will increase through upgrades in the future.

High resolution screenshots are available on the Imageboard.
