The Motion Picture Producers Association of Japan, Inc has posted information about the highest grossing movies of 2008. Each year, industry representatives meet to review the previous movie sales. This year, a press conference was held at the Tokyo Ginza Tobu Hotel on January 29th.

As expected, box office success Ponyo was the highest grossing movie of 2008 at 155.0 Billion Yen. The Theatrical Edition of Pocket Monsters - Movie 11 - Giratina and the Sky's Bouquet: Shaymin (劇場版ポケットモンスター　ダイヤモンド・パール ギラティナと氷空の花束シェイミ) ranked forth overall at 48.0 Billion Yen.
