Since pre-orders of Pokémon Black and White officially began on July 31st, 2010 and to the time of the news release on August 22nd, 2010, over 1 million copies of the games have been ordered. This officially makes the games the fastest selling Nintendo DS games and the pre-orders are expected to reach over 1.5 million before the games are released on September 18th, 2010.

The games have been heavily promoted on all forms of media and the current Pokémon Searcher BW campaign (ポケモンサーチャーBW) is getting a lot of people turning out to find out more about the games.
