The Japanese Pokémon Global Link website has announced the details for the upcoming Japan Cup (ジャパンカップ) Wi-Fi tournament that will take place from September 15th, 2011 until September 19th, 2011. Registration takes place on the Japanese Daisuki Club from September 7th, 2011 until September 14th, 2011 or until the 10,000 player limit has been reached. The tournament results will be published on September 28th, 2011.

The tournament rules are similar to the World Championships rules as player cannot use Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem. Pokémon are restricted to level 50 and those Pokémon entered above level 51 will be downgraded to level 50. All Double battles will take place over Wi-Fi.

It was also announced that the Pokémon World Championships 2011 C-Gear which was distributed in the United States earlier this year will also be available in Japan from September 7th, 2011 until October 4th, 2011.
