Pokémon GO - An eventful summer wraps up at Pokémon GO Fest 2019 Yokohama
Trainers,What an exciting week at the last Pokémon GO Fest event of the summer! We were thrilled to see more than 150,000 attendees at our first ever Pokémon GO Fest in Asia. Over the course of the event, Trainers in Akarenga, Rinko, and Yamashita Parks caught more than 24 Million Pokémon. Globally, Trainers completed Team Mystic Leader Blanche’s portion of Professor Willow’s Global Challenge and unlocked Stardust rewards for Pokémon GO players around the world. We want to thank all the passionate Trainers in Yokohama and all over the globe who helped continue our summer adventures and made this Pokémon GO Fest amazing!
Here are just a few highlights from this week’s activities:
Pokémon GO Fest 2019 Yokohama Special Research
Ticketed attendees had the opportunity to experience the Special Research that was first unveiled at Pokémon GO Fest Chicago 2019. Professor Willow greeted the player upon entering the park and asked for their help in investigating the Mythical Pokémon Jirachi! By making friends, sending Gifts, and returning lost Pokémon to their habitats, Trainers were able to wake up Jirachi from its slumber and catch it.
Habitats and photo ops!
We were thrilled to provide Trainers with the experience of playing in three parks located in Yokohama: Akarenga Park, Rinko Park, and Yamashita Park.
Attendees got to enjoy three habitats: Cloudy Sky, Snowy, and Ocean. A special addition awaited Trainers at Pokémon GO Fest Yokohama: Pokémon that made for amazing photo opportunities!
In the Cloudy Sky habitat, Trainers could take photos with Flying-type Pokémon, such as Natu and Drifloon, all while catching Pokémon including Aerodactyl and Combee. The Snowy habitat featured glaciers and Pokémon like Lapras and Snorunt. Within this chilly scene, intrepid Trainers also had the chance to catch Ice-type Pokémon, like Alolan Vulpix and Sneasel. Past the cloudy skies and snowy peaks was the Ocean habitat, full of Water-type Pokémon—such as Omanyte and Marill—that Trainers could catch. Wandering Trainers in search of a seafaring photo could pose next to the ocean and Water-type Pokémon like Psyduck and Poliwag.
Pikachu Outbreak 2019!
After sunset, over two thousand Pikachu made an appearance in the parks for Pikachu Outbreak 2019, held by The Pokémon Company during the same period. With colorful costumes and lively music, they danced the night away through the city. It was truly a bright and unforgettable experience!
Global Challenge
Congratulations to all Trainers who contributed to the third part of the Global Challenge! Pokémon GO Fest Yokohama attendees and Trainers around the world alike worked hard throughout the seven-day time frame and successfully completed Blanche’s Stardust Research Challenge. Professor Willow noticed that Blanche was smiling more and seemed more relaxed as the results came in. Blanche isn’t the type to express emotion, but Professor Willow knows that the Team Mystic leader is feeling immensely proud of you all right now, Trainers.
