Celebrate Pokémon’s anniversary with a brand-new event—Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto!

Trainers, Next year marks both Pokémon’s anniversary and Pokémon GO’s fifth anniversary! To celebrate, we’re excited to announce a virtual, ticketed event that Trainers all around the globe will be able to take part in. No matter where you are in the world, take a trip back to the region where it all started: Kanto.

Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto
Experience the wonder of the games that sparked a global phenomenon! In the ticketed version of this event, you’ll choose between the Red Version or Green Version of the event experience, each featuring version-exclusive Pokémon. Complete event-exclusive Special Research, and test your Pokémon-collection skills. Trading with a friend who chose the other version will be important, just like it was in Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green! Can you collect all 150 original Pokémon in one day?

We’re also excited to announce that during the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event, the first 150 Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region will be available as Shiny Pokémon, some of them for the first time ever. If you’re lucky, you just might find a Shiny Pokémon! You’ll be able to encounter these Shiny Pokémon after the event is over, too.

That’s not all—after completing the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto Special Research, Trainers will receive a second event-exclusive Special Research line. Overcoming difficult challenges and daunting tasks will be required to complete it, but it’ll all be worth it to discover Shiny Mew.

Tickets for Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto are available in the in-app shop now! And if you purchase a Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto ticket by a certain date, you’ll also receive tickets for the Special Research stories for the January and February Community Day events! If you choose not to purchase a ticket, there’ll still be exciting features for you to enjoy during the event.
