Surrounded by a group of three Mankey's in a park in Vermilion City, it's bone was taken by stolen by them. Goh saw what happened and came to the rescue and said they'd help it find the bone. After searching the park, a Fearow showed up and took them to an area where the Mankey were playing with the bone and explained that they threw it into a lake, Goh's Dewgong was able to find it. Cubone wanted to become friends with Goh and he caught it.
