GO Battle League: Dual Destiny is almost here!

GO Battle League: Dual Destiny

GO Battle League: Dual Destiny will start on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8).

The following will occur at the beginning of the Season.

  • End-of-Season rewards will be available on the Battle screen.
  • Your GO Battle League rank will be reset.
  • Rank-up requirements will remain the same as the prior Season.

Bonuses

  • 4× Stardust from win rewards. (This does not include end-of-set rewards.)
  • The maximum number of sets you can play per day will increase from five to 20—for a total of 100 battles—from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time.
  • Free battle-themed Timed Research will be available. Rewards include shoes for your avatar inspired by Grimsley.
  • Pokémon encountered via GO Battle League rewards will have a wider variance of Attack, Defense, and HP.

GO Battle League Timed Research Pass

For our most dedicated battlers, a pass to access battle-themed Timed Research will be available in the in-game shop at no cost once GO Battle League: Dual Destiny begins.

This Timed Research will keep track of your victories throughout the Season. Each research page will require 100 wins to complete, and doing so will award Stardust and items such as Rare Candy XL, an Elite Fast TM (at 400 wins), and an Elite Charged TM (at 500 wins). Keep at it throughout the Season to see how far you can get!

Avatar items and other rewards

Trainers will be able to earn the following avatar items, which are all inspired by Grimsley, a member of the Unova Elite Four, from the Pokémon Black and Pokémon White video games!

  • At Ace rank, you’ll receive shoes inspired by Grimsley.
  • At Veteran rank, you’ll receive pants inspired by Grimsley.
  • At Expert rank, you’ll receive a top inspired by Grimsley.
  • At Legend rank, you’ll receive a pose inspired by Grimsley.

Cups

You can look forward to the following cups this Season.

Fantasy Cup: Great League Edition - Pokémon must be at or below 1,500 CP to enter. Only Dragon-, Steel-, and Fairy-type Pokémon are eligible.
Holiday Cup: Little Edition - Pokémon must be at or below 500 CP to enter. Only Normal-, Grass-, Electric-, Ice-, Flying-, and Ghost-type Pokémon are eligible.
Color Cup: Great League Edition - Pokémon must be at or below 1,500 CP to enter. Only Fire-, Water-, Grass-, and Electric-type Pokémon are eligible.
Jungle Cup: Little Edition - Pokémon must be at or below 500 CP to enter. Only Normal-, Grass-, Electric-, Poison-, Ground-, Flying-, Bug-, and Dark-type Pokémon are eligible.
The following Pokémon will not be allowed: Gligar, Galarian Stunfisk
Love Cup: Great League Edition -Pokémon must be at or below 1,500 CP to enter. OOnly red- or pink-colored Pokémon are eligible.
Master League: Mega Edition - No CP limit. Mega-Evolved Pokémon are allowed.

Updates to the Combat System

The switch timer in the GO Battle League will continue to be 50 seconds. This change will also continue to affect Trainer Battles against friends, Team GO Rocket battles, and team leader battles.

Attack Changes

Fire Fang - Energy generation increased
Ice Fang - Energy generation increased
Thunder Fang - Energy generation increased
Bulldoze - Trainer Battles: 80 → 45 power. Energy cost decreased. Chance to decrease the opponent’s Defense by one stage.
Fire Punch - Trainer Battles: 55 → 60 power
Ice Punch - Trainer Battles: 55 → 60 power
Thunder Punch - Trainer Battles: 55 → 60 power
Thunder Shock - Trainer Battles: 3 → 4 power
Rage Fist - Energy cost increased

Attack Availability Updates

Dragalge - Dragalge will now be able to learn the Charged Attack Focus Blast.
Bibarel - Bibarel will now be able to learn the Fast Attack Rollout.
Gliscor - Gliscor will now be able to learn the Fast Attack Sand Attack.
Starmie - Starmie will now be able to learn the Fast Attack Psywave.
Starmie - Starmie will now be able to learn the Charged Attack Surf.
