Fennel was studying the Future Energy and Pokémon dreams at a laboratory facility near Sanyo City until an accident, caused by a group of men who broke in to the lab, caused its destruction. Her Musharna disappeared during the accident and it wasn't until Fennel returned to the Dream Site ruins where Rocket Gang was attempting to collect the Future Energy that she was reunited with Musharna.

Pokémon Restoration Device

Fennel's Musharna was hooked up to the Pokémon Restoration Device that Fennel and Professor Juniper created so it could use the dream energy that it created to help in the Pokémon restoration process. A tube was connected to its head to collect the dream energy for the device.
