Doctor Akihabara is the creator of the Pokémon Transfer Machine and two Porygon's. His name is based off of Akihabara, the famous electronics district in Tokyo, Japan. He is an extremely smart and knowledgeable scientist who was working on a way to allow humans to also use the Transfer Machine. The Transfer Machine was successful in digitizing Ash Ketchum and his friends along with Team Rocket but the prototype was destroyed when Anti-Virus program missiles also rematerialized in his laboratory and exploded.

When Doctor Akihabara gets an idea, he becomes very excited to the point of being extremely irresponsible. He often puts off anything or anyone until he accomplishes his task. He is very proud of his work and hoped that it would makie everyone's life more convenient.

After the destruction of his lab and the Human Transfer Machine Prototype, Doctor Akihabara was last seen in the rumble of the laboratory as Brock suggested to him that he should make a safer system.
