Kanoa is a Seafolk person who travels the seas and the world. He is a treasure hunter that is in search of valuable things. He salvages treasure that is at the bottom of the ocean floor. He heard of a storm that sunk a ship long ago near Melemele Island and he managed to find the ship but was unable to recover the cargo because a Dadarin was guarding it.

He is in love with Ida who travels with him but it was unclear if they were married.
