Roger Clifford is a character that appears in both the game and movie versions of Pokémon: Detective Pikachu.

In the game version, he is the main antagonist, serving as a producer for the news station GNN. He wanted to smuggle R into Ryme City and distribute it across major news events, mainly parades, to get the ultimate scoop, make GNN trusted, and ultimately take over the world. He was taken down by Tim and Pikachu before he could initiate his plans, and was arrested.

In the movie version, he is the son of Ryme City founder Howard Clifford, still serving as the main producer for the news station RNN. While the movie plays him to be the antagonist, including him being against everything is father stands for, and the news station, he is not a villian like the game version. Instead, his father used his Ditto to make Roger seem like the villian, causing Roger to be framed.
