Manager Tong is a baker and the manager of the Bakery Tongri-La (ベーカリー・トングリラ). He sent an invitation to Nidothing from his bakery where Gurumin Bread is the current fad, asking Nidothing to appear on stage during a bread festival. Dot decided to go to the festival and visited him at his tent.

His name is likely based on his character holding a tong in each hand all the time and opening and closing them while he talks.

He held a stage show for Nidothing and Mini-Gurumin, but initially Mini-Gurumin wasn't there for the start of the show as the Rising Volt Tacklers were looking for Ditto. As soon as the Gurumin Bread was finished, Mini-Gurumin showed up and the fans went crazy. The event ended up doing well and Dot got some baskets of Gurumin Bread.
