The Pokémon Company has announced that a Pokémon Presents broadcast will take place on Pokémon Day on February 27th, 2024 at 6:00 a.m. PST / 9:00 am EST / 23:00 JST. High resolution artwork and screenshots from the Press release have been added to an Imageboard thread.

Bellevue, Wash. — Feb. 27, 2024 — Today, The Pokémon Company group revealed Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a new video game, during a special Pokémon Presents video presentation. Streamed online to fans around the world on Pokémon Day — the annual fan-focused pop-culture holiday celebrating the launch of the original Pokémon video games on Feb. 27, 1996 — the presentation unveiled a slate of new experiences coming soon to the franchise.

Highlights include the announcement of a new video game, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which will release exclusively on Nintendo Switch™ family of systems worldwide in 2025, and Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, a new app featuring a digital card collection — including “immersive cards” — arriving later in 2024. Details about these new titles as well as celebrations for the upcoming U.S. launch of “Pokémon Horizons: The Series” are below:

The beloved Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) franchise continues to evolve with the debut of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, a new app that reimagines the experience of collecting Pokémon TCG cards in an innovative digital format.

In Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, players will be able to enjoy the thrill of opening booster packs and collecting cards showcasing special visual effects unique to this digital adaptation of the Pokémon TCG. Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket introduces “immersive cards,” which give players the experience of leaping into the world of the card’s illustration, providing a whole new way to enjoy the Pokémon TCG. Players will be able to open two booster packs every day at no cost, including cards with nostalgic illustrations as well as new cards found only in the app. In addition, players will be able to engage in quick battles featuring streamlined rules based on the classic Pokémon TCG battle system.

Developed in collaboration with Creatures Inc., the creators of the Pokémon TCG, and DeNA Co. Ltd., partners in the development of Pokémon Masters EX, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will launch in 2024 as a free-to-start app for iOS and Android. For more details, please see here.

CELEBRATORY EXPERIENCES FOR ‘POKÉMON HORIZONS: THE SERIES’

Themed Activities Coming to Pokémon GO
In celebration of the upcoming U.S. premiere of “Pokémon Horizons: The Series” — arriving March 7, 2024, exclusively on Netflix — fans around the world can enjoy special “Pokémon Horizons: The Series” events coming to Pokémon GO between March 5 and March 11. Players will be able to meet Liko and Roy, the dual protagonists of “Pokémon Horizons: The Series,” in GO Snapshot. In addition, Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat will make its debut in Pokémon GO, introducing an attack that’s also new to the app: Volt Tackle.

Charcadet Makes Its Pokémon GO Debut During Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event

Celebrate the new Pokémon animated series with Pokémon GO debuts and costumed Pokémon. Pokémon’s new animated series, Pokémon Horizons: The Series, hits Netflix on March 7, 2024, but the Pokémon GO party is kicking off a little early. From March 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to March 11, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time, the Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event is introducing Pokémon and characters from the animation to Pokémon GO. Charcadet, Armarouge, Ceruledge, and Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat will all appear for the first time in Pokémon GO. Pikachu will know the Electric-type Charged Attack Volt Tackle, which is also making its Pokémon GO debut in this event. Get fired up for Charcadet, which may hatch from 10 km Eggs. To make hatching Eggs even more exciting, Trainers will receive double XP for hatching Eggs during the event.

In addition to the fiery and adorable Charcadet and its two Evolutions, you may encounter the following Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild during the event: Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat, Alolan Grimer, Scyther, Nosepass, Beldum, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Pawmi. The human characters will be joining the party as well, so take plenty of snapshots during the event—you may just get a surprise encounter with some of the characters and Pokémon you’ll meet in Pokémon H
orizons: The Series!

Show that you’ve got Liko and Roy’s courage and sense of adventure by taking part in raids to catch the following Pokémon.

Celebrate Pokémon Day with Miraidon in Pokémon UNITE

Bring the Thunder and shock the competition as this Legendary Pokémon from the Paldea region. Miraidon is Electro Drifting its way into Pokémon UNITE this Pokémon Day! This Dragon- and Electric-type Pokémon was first discovered in the Paldea region and accompanied Trainers throughout every step of their Treasure Hunt in Pokémon Violet. Now, the Legendary Pokémon is ready to lay down Electric Terrain and shock the competition on Aeos Island as a powerful Ranged Attacker. You’ll be able to add Miraidon to your roster as part of a special event: Miraidon’s Sandwich Challenge. In this event, Miraidon’s Unite license can be obtained without spending Aeos coins or Aeos gems.

The Miraidon’s Sandwich Challenge event will be held in Pokémon UNITE from Monday, February 26, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. PST to Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. Players can obtain dice by logging in (and through other means) and then roll them to advance squares on a board. As players advance squares, they can complete missions to earn Aeos Sandwiches that can then be exchanged for Miraidon’s Unite license.

Players of Pokémon UNITE can get a 3-day limited license for Miraidon and a Platinum Miraidon boost emblem by entering the code: POKEDAY24

To commemorate Pokémon Day and Miraidon’s introduction to Pokémon UNITE, players can use the gift code POKEDAY24 to obtain a platinum Miraidon Pokémon boost emblem, which has useful effects in battle. This gift code is redeemable until March 31, 2024, at 4:59 PDT. To redeem this gift code, follow these steps:

  • Launch Pokémon UNITE on your mobile device or Nintendo Switch.
  • Select the events icon on the right side of the main menu.
  • Select the Daily Events tab.
  • Scroll down and select Gift Exchange.
  • Select Exchange and then enter the gift code on the page that appears.

Pokémon Day at the Empire State Building

Outside of today’s Pokémon Presents, The Pokémon Company International is celebrating the upcoming U.S. premiere of “Pokémon Horizons: The Series” by partnering with the iconic Empire State Building in New York City to illuminate its world-famous tower lights. Emulating the highly recognizable Pokémon logo, the world-famous landmark will light up New York’s skyline in yellow and blue tonight beginning at sunset.
