Kochi×Quagsire

On November 11th, 2024, Quagsire was appointed the "Kochi Support Pokémon." Kochi Prefecture has the highest concentration of forested land in Japan. The verdant forests give rise to the crystal-clear waters of the Shimanto River, Niyodo River, and many other streams, where one can easily picture Quagsire leisurely swimming. Through various initiatives, Quagsire will help promote the endless charms of Kochi Prefecture, from the seas where the Kuroshio Current ebbs and flows, to the mighty mountains, to the unspoilt landscapes of yesteryear.

Kochi Prefecture encompasses the southern half of Shikoku island, facing the vast Pacific Ocean. While it is often associated with its coastline, it is also the most forested prefecture in Japan. The prefecture is blessed with beautiful natural landscapes, such as the forests that cover 84% of its land mass and the crystal-clear waters of the Shimanto River, Niyodo River, and many other streams. You’ll surely be tantalized by Kochi’s seasonal delicacies, nurtured by its rich nature, and the warm-hearted locals known for their free and easy spirit, and their generosity! Why not take a break from your busy daily life and come experience a laid-back getaway in this charming prefecture?

Collaborative Projects

1. Implementation of a stamp rally for a tour of the prefecture. This is scheduled to be implemented in the winter of 2024 as a first step measure to attract visitors to the prefecture. Details will be announced at a later date.

2. Holding of greeting events. They plan to hold meet-and-greet events where visitors can meet Nuoh, mainly at events sponsored by the prefecture.

3. Installation of PokéLids. As part of the collaboration agreement between Kochi Prefecture and The Pokémon Company, PokéLids will be installed in all 34 cities, towns, and villages in the prefecture. Detailed information on installation locations and other details will be announced at a later date.

4-piece Millet Biscuits Kochi Prefecture x Nuoh ver. (4連ミレービスケット 高知県×ヌオーver.)

Coin-sized Millet biscuits that are slightly sweet and slightly salty. The cute packaging with Nuoh peeking out against the backdrop of Kochi's tourist attraction locations makes it the perfect souvenir for people to bring back memories of their trip! Retail stores and souvenir shops within the prefecture will carry it.

Tosa washi Letter Paper made with water from the Niyodo River (仁淀川の水で作った ヌオーの土佐和紙ひとこと便せん).

Rakusui (落水) is a traditional technique that uses the water of the miraculously pure Niyodo River to create patterns. The Nuoh drawn on the Tosa Washi paper is created using this technique to make it look like it is submerged in water. Why not convey your thoughts by writing as if Nuoh is relaxing in the water? It will be available on the LadyRisa online store, the Kochi Ryoma Airport, and Tosa Select Shop Tencos.

5. Public Transport Vehicle Wrapping. A streetcar has been wrapped and decorated with Nuoh.
