Summary:
Satoshi and Kasumi have arrived at the entrance to Nibi Gym, where they meet an weird old rock salesman named Muno. After Muno learns Satoshi is a Pokémon Trainer, he guides the two to the city's Pokémon Center.

At the Pokémon Center, Satoshi spots a poster for the Pokémon League. To enter the league, one has to win matches against Trainers in Pokémon Gyms, and assemble Badges.

Satoshi immediately heads to the Gym in this city, where he challenges the Trainer Takeshi, but he is quickly defeated. Satoshi has lost his spirit, but Muno encourages him. Satoshi then learns why Takeshi is not able to compete in the Pokémon League himself: He has to care for his ten brothers and sisters, and is unable to leave town. However, while this makes Satoshi lose the image he had of Takeshi, it doesn't make him any more pumped to win the Badge. So before challenging Takeshi again, he puts Pikachu through stern, specialized training.

And then it's time for the rematch!
