This is a really great battle. There are so many moments when you think that Satoshi may win, but in the end, he was simply unable to. Zugaidos is a beast.

Brief list of major episode highlights:
- Shinji eventually agrees to watching Satoshi's battle, but Hyouta says it will have to be postponed until the next day, as his Pokemon need rest.
-Meanwhile, the Rockets have infiltrated the research center posing as scientists, and are led to the fossil revival machine by Dr Kenzo, as well as shown some revived Pokemon.
- At the Pokemon center, Satoshi choose Naetle, Eipam and Pikachu as his lineup for the match. Shinji gives his Marilli away to a random kid because it wasn't worthy of a spot on his team.
-That night, the Rockets decide to use the revival machine to create an army of extinct Pokemon.
-The next day, the gym battle starts. Hyouta starts with Zugaidos, Satoshi starts with Eipam. Zugaidos manages to counter Eipam's Focus Punches with its headbutts while dodging her Swift attack, and knocks her out without taking any damage itself.
- Satoshi's next Pokemon is Pikachu, which after a successful Iron Tail falls victim to a series of headbutt attacks and get knocked down. As Shinji gets up and readies himself to leave, Pikachu pulls itself back up, surprising Shinji and making him sit back down.
- After another successful Iron Tail from Pikachu, Zugaidos readies its strongest move, Head Smash. Pikachu counters with Volt Tackle, and the two repel each other.
- Satoshi recalls Pikachu and sends out Naetle. Zugaidos manages to hit it witha Flamethrower, but it preserves and knocks Zugaidos out with Razor Leaf.
- Hyouta's second Pokemon is Iwark, which knocks out the damaged Naetle right away with a Double-Edge.
- Satoshi next sends out Pikachu, but it proves too weak to counter Iwark's Slam attack. Satoshi tries to slow its movement by attacking the ground, but it counters with Screech, knocking Pikachu out and winning the battle. Shinji leaves the gym, calling Satoshi weak.
