The latest Pocket Monsters movie The Ruler of Illusions Zoroark (幻影の覇者 ゾロアーク) debuted in second place in Japanese theaters during its first weekend of release. The movie began screening on July 10th, 2010, the same day that Toy Story 3 debuted in Japanese theaters.

Toy Story 3 opened on 525 screens whereas The Ruler of Illusions Zoroark opened on only 369 screens nationwide in Japan. Toy Story 3 revenue was 977 million yen during its debut making it the 3rd best animation openings in Japanese history only behind Hayao Miyazaki's “Howl’s Moving Castle” and “Spirited Away”. Movie 13 had 600,602 viewers and made 629,471,700 yen.

After its second weekend, M13 dropped to 4th place. Total revenue is up to 13.1 billion yen.

At least it was an another animated movie. If it were beaten by Twilight: Eclipse I would cry tears of blood.
