A new news article has been posted!
Episode 75 of Pokémon Get TV, Hakudan Gym Match! The Elegant Vivillon's Dance Battling!! / In the Second Installment of 'Kasuga from Audrey's Road to Becoming a Contest Star', He Particiates in the Chikara-mochi Tournament in Tokushima / 'Pikachu, What'chu Doin' Now!?' aired this Sunday.

The episode starts as usual with the hosts greeting the audience, however Taka is too preoccupied with his 3DS game to give anything more than a severely unenthusiastic greeting, followed by an equally unenthusiastic delivery of his usual "You're really cute today too, Shokotan" line. The others ask exactly what he's so busy with he can't do his job properly and he explains that he's raising strong Pokémon in ORAS to prepare for the Pokémon World Championships and is currently in the middle of hatching eggs. Toshi tells him to pull himself together, prompting Taka to call him a talking egg and getting smacked for it as the others laugh at how Toshi's head indeed looks like an egg.

Toshi takes over, saying that "that person" will be joining them again today and they need to introduce him. The door goes up and Kasuga enters with his usual "Poketuusu" greeting, followed by a couple of his other Pokémon gags, to absolutely zero reaction from the others. He finishes with a new skit wher he portrays a Pelipper which makes Shoko laugh, and he congratulates himself on a job well done as Taka and Toshi mention that his delivery fell pretty flat. Kasuga ask which part of it was bad, and Toshi tells him it was the part that started 8 years ago.

Kasuga starts introducng his segment, "Kasuga's Road to Becoming a Contest Star", mentioning that the first installment was well received and brought all of Japan to tears, though he trips over his own words when announcing the title and the narrator has to finish for him. However, before that:

PokéTV Animation

Over at the PokéTV Animation set, Yukito announces that the day has finally come and that he's scared as Taka walks in and joins him on the set. Taka tells him he's been doing an awful job presenting the episodes so far and that he's personally come to watch over him and ensure he doesn't fumble his words, calling him an abomasum. Yukito doesn't understand, so Taka tells him it's a stiff offal and Yukito tells him that word refers to meat, not people. Today's anime episode is Hakudan Gym Match! The Elegant Vivillon's Dance Battling!!, the fifth episode of Pocket Monsters XY. Yukito has chosen the scene where Satoshi's frustration with his loss begins as his highlight, explaining how Yayakoma loses against Viola's Vivillon and Satoshi gets a pained expression on his face as he watches this, but that he then puts in some serious work to overcome this frustration. However, he's unable to finish in the 30 seconds he's given and Taka once again chastises him for fumbling his words, calling him rumen this time after Yukito accidentally says "giara" (abomasum) instead of "ganbarimasu" (I'll do my best).

Pikachu, What'chu Doin' Now!?

After the rerun ends, this contest segment makes its return in a slightly updated form: Instead of a video clip being gradually revealed over time like before, the video clip is now shown through a small spotlight flying around an otherwise black screen. Beyond that, the rules are the same as always: AD Pikachu is shown doing something and all the competitors have to guess what this something is within 60 seconds. The faster all of them get the correct answer, the better prizes will be given out to the viewers.

If all of them get the answer after more than 46 seconds have passed, 1 lucky winner will receive 20 booster packs from the new card game series Emerald Break. If they get the answer when 31 to 45 seconds have passed, 10 winners will receive 20 packs each, if they get the answer when 15 to 45 seconds have passed 100 winners will receive 20 packs each, and if they get the answer before 15 seconds have passed, an amazing 1000 winners will receive 20 packs each.

The correct answer was "Pikachu performs manzai comedy". Shokotan, Yukito and Robin got the answer within 18 seconds, but Taka and Kasuga needed more time and clock finally stopped at 39 seconds, meaning 10 winners would receive prizes. Finally we get to see the actual skit in question, where AD Pikachu and Nezutchi from the comedy duo Double Colon tell the following joke: "What does Pokemon Get TV and arrests have in common? They both require Shoko ("shoko" written as 証拠 means "evidence")".

Kasuga's Road to Becoming a Contest Star

Kasuga introduces the next segment himself as Toshi points out he's good at promoting himself. Toshi asks what kind of contest he's been trying this time and Kasuga tells him it's one where he got to make full use of his well trained body. The narrator explains the concept of the segment: In Pokémon ORAS, you can have a Pokémon become a Contest Star by making it reach the Master Rank in all five Contest types, so Kasuga will likewise attempt to become a Contest Star by winning various contests throughout Japan.

Kasuga starts the segment by quickly recapping the first installment, where he won the prize for biggest fish at a fishing tournament in Tochigi, though he says he's not a Contest Star yet. This time, he's come to the temple Taisan-ji in Kamiita, Tokushima, where he looks around for the contest he's supposed to be participating in. He eventually finds some posters among the various festival booths announcing the "Chikara-mochi" competition ("Chikaramochi" means "strongman", though in this instance it's written with the kanji for mochi, the traditional rice snack. Kasuga isn't sure what it involves, but assumes it's a strength-based contest, which he should be good at.

One of the organizers, Yoshiyuki Kirihara, vice president of the chikara-mochi preservation society, explain to him that it's a contest about carrying a heavy mochi mortar as far as possible, adding that the entire thing weighs a total of 140kg. Taka wonders if Kasuga will even be able to lift that. The narrator explains that according to legend, the warlords that governed this area 400 years ago were granted superhuman strength by Kannon at this temple and that the competition is based around this legend.

Kasuga tells the audience he's taught himself Strength, with the narrator explaining that this is a move in ORAS that allows you to move heavy objects around, and that he'll definitely have a chance because of that. He asks how far he'll have to carry the mortar to win, and Kirihara tells him last year's winner carried it 51 meters, with Kasuga replying he'll be able to carry it all 500 km to Tokyo if he has to. The two of them go to see the 144kg men's mortar, which is lined up next to a 68kg woman's mortar and a 56kg childrens' mortar. Kasuga says it's bigger than he thought and after getting confirmation he can carry it with both arms, he decides to practice on a mortar base used in an old compatition, weighing 80kg. He gets some assistance from Yoji Dan, last year's winner and 8 times consecutive champion. Dan shows him the lifting technique, but Kasuga can't manage to replicate it and struggles lifting just the mortar base on its own.

Dan asks him if he's entering the competition and Kasuga says he came all the way to Tokushima for it, he's not here at the temple to pray. Dan gives him some secrets to carrying the mortar, telling him to grip it diagonally with his left hand at the bottom and his right hand on the top, then lean his body and face onto the mortar and lift it while bending his body slightly backwards. Kasuga tries this and finally manages to carry the mortar base for a bit. After a bit more practice, he declares himself ready, saying he'll be able to win this competition now.

While waiting for the competition to start, Kasuga wanders around the area talking to children asking them if they watch Pokémon Get TV and what their favorite segment is, as well as whether they like Abareru-kun or Kasuga better. Once again the kids he talks to tend to like Abareru-kun and his segment the best, though he eventually manages to pester some boys into "admitting" they like him better, as the narrator tells him this is no way for an adult to behave.

The competition is finally about to begin, and Kasuga introduces himself to the audience, telling them he's come all the way from Tokyo to win this thing, and that he's definitely going to beat the old record of 51 meters as well. The audience doesn't seem to believe him, and his attempt at getting them to cheer him on with a "Pokétuusu" falls flat as well.

The competition begins with the grade schooler division, where the complete mortar weighs 56kg. The winner manages to carry this mortar 11 meters and Kasuga asks him for some tips after the division is over. He's told to bend his knees lightly to make his back support the mortar better. Kasuga tells him the mortar he has to carry weighs 144kg and asks the boy if he'd be able to carry that, and the boy replies that he thinks he'd be able to both carry it AND win the competition. Finally, Kasuga asks him if he watches Get TV and the boy says he does, and that his favorite segment is the Hide and Seek Game, though he has to take a bit of time to remember who Kasuga is.

Finally, it's time for the men's division. When Kasuga is about to try, the current record is 32m60cm and Kasuga says that should be a problem, they haven't even reached a single kilometer yet, telling them they need to change the units to that. However, the mortar ends up being a bit heavier than he expected, and he's initially unable to even lift it off its stand. He tries again and seems to be able to hold it on his second attempt, but has to set it down again before starting to walk. On his third try, he finally manages to carry it off, but he quickly falls forward and drops the mortar, ending at a mere 4 meter and stumbling onto the ground getting mud in his hair. Finally, it's time for Dan to take his turn. He manages an incredible 52m30s, a landslide victory. The end results come in, with Kasuga ranking 27th of the 43 total competitors, though he's quick to ask where the next contest he'll be participating in is taking place, saying he'll definitely win that one. In the studio, the hosts talk about Dan's amazing record and Kasuga mention that Dan only carried the mortar 10 meters the first time he competed, so practice definitely makes perfect, so Taka tells him he should re-challenge Dan next year and Kasuga says he'd definitely be able to beat him an his 53 meters then, though Toshi says he'll have to make that a private challenge, which Kasuga is less interested in doing.
