Back then everyone thought Alberto was gonna be the bad guy ...

Something about that always made me suspicious. Probably because, as sinister as the previews made Alberto out to be, it never connected him with any evil act. I was expecting him to be a giant red herring in the film...but it seems that aspect never even left the previews. Because beyond "being slightly creepy", he never did anything even remotely evil in the film. And heck, once he realized that Darkrai really wasn't behind everything, he was all "Oh, ok, now let's save this town!" He seemed to genuinely care about his people, as hotheaded as he was about his methods.
