The official Pokémon movie site has revealed that the theme song fr the upcoming movie "Extremespeed Genesect: The Awakening of Mewtwo" will be 笑顔 (Egao, Smile) by Japanese pop rock band Ikimono-gakari. A clip from the song will be heard in the movie trailer to be released April 18th.

The single will be released July 16th, and will come with a special Pokémon Tretta. More details to follow.



The members of the band have posted messages for the fans:

Yoshiki Mizuno: I'm sure a lot of you are going to watch this movie with your families this summer. I think it's a great feeling to work to an almost ridiculous degree in order to make someone laugh or feel happy, and I wanted to bring this across in the song. This is what I was thinking as I wrote the lyrics. Please give it a listen.
