During the July 31st, 2020, episode of Oha Suta, it was announced that Moka Kamishiraishi (上白石萌歌) will Coco's voice actor and Kankurō Nakamura (中村勘九郎) will be Zarude's voice actor. In addition, Pokémon movie alumni Shoko Nakagawa and Kōichi Yamadera will return to do voice acting, playing Professor Zed and Karen, researchers at a Biotope Company which is studying cutting-edge technology in the forest Satoshi visits. High resolution images from the Oha Suta episode have been added to an Imageboard thread.

After the announcement airing on Oha Suta, the official movie website updated with comments from the announced voice actors. The following are their comments:

Zarude: The Mythical Pokémon that decided to raise Coco against the law of the forest. Voice: Kankuro Nakamura

Comment: I saw "Pokémon The Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back" (released in 1998) at the movie theater when I was in high school, and I also went to see "Mewtwo Strikes Back: EVOLUTION" which was released last year with my children. We spend a lot of time together at kabuki rehearsals, but our schedules usually don't allow us to spend time together, so going to see a movie like Pokémon with my children during those times is a valuable parent-child experience. When I was selected as a guest voice actor, I had always wanted to be an anime voice actor, and I was also happy to see that my first challenge as a voice actor was to work on the long-loved "Pokémon" series. I've learned so much from watching my kids since they were born, and I think this story is a story of Zarude's growth as it finds itself raising Coco. It's a story of parent-child love, and I'm a very tearful person, so when I read the script, I was crying the whole time. Kabuki actors form bonds as they carry on their traditions from generation to generation, and since Zarude are a Pokémon that keeps the rules, I had a lot of sympathy for it and was very touched by it.

Comment

Coco raised by Zarude, a boy who believes he is a Pokémon. Voice: Moka Kamishiraishi

Pocket Monsters: Advanced Generation The Movie - Pokémon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea - Manaphy (released in 2006) was the first movie I ever saw when I was in first grade, and I went to see it with my family. I also played the Nintendo DS games, and I've always been exposed to the culture of Pokémon, so I feel like we've grown up together. When I lived in Mexico, Pokémon was very popular at my school, and I realized that it was a culture that originated in Japan and that people liked it so much, even though I lived abroad. I used to see Pokémon as "cute" when I was little, but now that I'm an adult, I've come to realize how deep the message is. In this movie, I play a boy raised by Pokémon, and I thought the theme of the movie is the connection between people and Pokémon, such as the fact that even though they are not related by blood, they are still parent and child, and there is a bond between people and Pokémon. I'm looking forward to seeing how Kankuro-san, who plays Zarude, will breathe life into Zarude.

Comment

Celebi, Professor Zed. Voice: Kouichi Yamadera

Celebi, the Mythical Pokémon known as the guardian god of the forest. Professor Zed, a professor of a Biotope Company who researches the secrets of the forest.

Comment: I was happy to be offered to work in the Pokémon movie again this year. In the past few years, I've alternated between playing a human and a Pokémon, but I'm reassured by the fact that my character, Professor Zed, has Karen, played by Ms. Nakagawa, as his assistant. I saw the trailer for the film, and from the footage I saw, I was excited to see that director Yajima is going to bring a new style to the film again. I want to be one of the first to see the movie!

Karen, researcher for a Biotope Company and assistant to Professor Zed. Voice: Shoko Nakagawa

Comment: I'm very happy that this is the 13th Pokémon film I've appeared in. So when I was offered a role again this year, it was actually more of a surprise to me. The Karen I play in this film is the mature woman I've always wanted to be! I want to challenge myself a lot with this new Pokémon movie from director Yajima. Please enjoy it!

Mythical Pokémon Zeraora

The Mythical Pokémon Zeraora appears like a thunderbolt! This Pokémon creates a powerful magnetic field by emitting strong electric currents from the pads on its hands and feet. It can use this magnetic field to levitate and move through the air at high speed. Its max speed is said to be about the same as that of a lightning strike.

Unlike most Electric-type Pokémon, it doesn’t have an organ within its body that can produce electricity. However, it is able to gather and store electricity from outside sources, then use it as its own electric energy. When it uses massive amounts of electricity, its fur stands on end all over its body.

A Report from the Next Generation World Hobby Fair '18 Winter Tokyo Fair

The Next Generation World Hobby Fair '18 Winter is currently underway.
This is a status report from the Tokyo fair that took place in Makuhari Messe Saturday January 27th and Sunday January 28th!

The Pokémon Booth had lots of fun activities, including stage shows,
a section where you could try out the 3DS games "Pocket Monsters Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon", the ability to take photos with Pikachu, and more.
The "Let's Deliver Berries to the Hungry Kabigon!" section
had a game where you worked with Pikachu, Mokuroh, Nyabby and Ashimari to get "Berries" and place them in the basket Kabigon held.
Those of our friends that attempted this game were given an original shopping bag with the latest movie and anime TV series art printed on it!

In the "Defeat the Rainbow Rocket Gang!" section, you'd use the 3DS games "Pocket Monsters Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon"
to enjoy Pokémon battles where you'd use the Necrozma's new form "Ultra Necrozma".
Many of our friends got to experience the overwhelming power of Ultra Necrozma!

You could also take photos together with Pikachu in the "Real Alola Photo Club" section.
Pikachu looked really happy so many people took pictures it as well.

During the Pokémon stage show, those of our friends that came to the venue
got to compete for score in the 3DS games "Pocket Monsters Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon"'s "Mantain Surf",
have a Pokémon battle against Sakaki, the leader of the Rainbow Rocket Gang,
and get to try out the upcoming toy "PokéDel-Z" before anyone else!
The show also presented the latest news on the Nintendo 3DS game "Detective Pikachu", which is scheduled to be released Friday March 23rd.
At the end, everyone also got to take a photo with the "Detective Pikachu" Pikachu, who had come to visit the venue!

Some amazing guests then appeared on the stage!
Oha Suta Pokémon Club members Fire Tachibana, JP and Sendoff Entertainer Shinichi,
from the TV show "Oha Suta" that currently airs on the TV Tokyo Network,
truly livened up the stage show!
Hideaki Takatori, Aya Ikeda and Tatsuyuki Kobayashi
from the arcade game "Pokémon Ga-Olé" also came on
and sang the "Pokémon Ga-Olé" theme song.

During the "Pokénchi Presents a Special Pokémon Stage Show" that took place Sunday January 28th,
Hyadain, Abareru-kun and Rinka Otani from "Pokémon no Uchi Atsumaru?",
which currently airs on the TV Tokyo Network, appeared!
They and the audience watched the latest teaser trailer for the Pokémon movie that's going to premiere Friday July 13th this year together!

And, since Shokotan couldn't come to the venue, Chuei from Nagareboshi, dressed as Cosmog and calling himself Cosmochu, appeared in her stead,
and everyone attempted a "Poké-pun match with unison voices" together.
Everyone at the venue were divided into an Abareru-kun team and a Chuei team,
and competed against each other by shouting Poké-puns in unison, with the winner being the loudest team, a competition the Abareru-kun team won spectacularly!
The show also presented the latest news on the anime TV series "Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon",
which is undergoing new developments as per the episode airing Thursday February 8th.
And incredibly enough, the vocalist Taiiku Okazaki came onto the stage and sang both the ending theme "Pose"
and the new ending theme that will be used starting with the episode airing Thursday February 8th, "Brat Boy, Brat Girl".

The Next Generation World Hobby Fair was absolutely brimming with content.
After two days, the Tokyo fair closed with great success!

The Next Generation World Hobby Fair '18 Winter continues on, and is scheduled to be held at the following dates/venues!

The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo today revealed further story information and new Ultra Beast details for the upcoming games Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. An Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon trailer also made its debut on Oha Suta. High resolution images from the October 5th, 2017 Press Release have been added to an Imageboard thread.

In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, Ultra Wormholes were strange pockets of space that mysteriously appeared throughout the Alola region and were shrouded in mystery. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, these Ultra Wormholes return and players can ride on the Legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala to travel through them to reach the various worlds that lie beyond. Players can visit many different worlds via these Ultra Wormholes—including Ultra Megalopolis! The world of Ultra Megalopolis is a place that has had its light stolen by Necrozma. Within this world, a mysterious tower-like building shines with brilliant light but whatever waits at the top of this structure is currently unknown.

In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon players will meet the Ultra Recon Squad, a strange group that have come from a world that lives beyond an Ultra Wormhole. Players will see the story told from different perspective in each version of the game, with Dulse and Zossie playing a central role in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Soliera and Phyco taking that role in Pokémon Ultra Moon. The Ultra Recon Squad bring with them a new Ultra Beast—UB Adhesive.

UB Adhesive
Type: Poison
This Ultra Beast’s head is filled with venom and it shoots this venom out from the poisonous needle on the top of its head. It is said to be intelligent enough to understand human speech and displays many emotions.

In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, players will be able to meet other new Ultra Beasts in addition to UB Adhesive. In Pokémon Ultra Sun, players will able to meet UB Burst, while in Pokémon Ultra Moon, it will be UB Assembly.

UB Burst
Type: Fire/Ghost
UB Burst has a head made up of a collection of curious sparks, which it can remove and make explode. It tricks targets into letting their guard down with its funny behaviour then, when its opponent is close, it surprises them by blowing up its head without warning.

UB Assembly
Type: Rock/Steel
This Ultra Beast is a collection of many life-forms. While it appears to be made up of stones stacked atop one another, each “stone” is in fact a separate life-form. When confronting opponents, the eyes on each of its stones begin to glow bright red.
