Summary:

The first opening for Pokémon Smash featured a space vista with a few planets and stars for the background. The Pokémon Smash (ポケモンスマッシュ！) logo appears and then a film strip like vertical scroll of clips from the episode are shown. The intro isn't more than 15 seconds long before transitioning to the main live action segment where then introduce the repeat episode for the week. This opening was only used for the very first episode of the series.
