Karan Soni is a Los Angeles based actor for the Pokémon: Detective Pikachu film. Originally born in New Delhi, India, he had emigrated to the US when he was 18 to pursue an education in business before switching his major to the arts. His most famous role, which put him into the spotlight, was when he was cast as taxi driver Dopinder in Deadpool and it's sequel. Like in the Deadpool film series, he stars along Ryan Reynolds in Detective Pikachu as well.
