Wally is a sickly, young boy and the rival of the player, Brendan or May in the Hoenn based games (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, OmegaRuby, and AlphaSapphire). His partner is a Ralts that the player helps him catch, which eventually evolves into a Gallade. Like the player, he had only just moved to Petalburg City, but wanted to become a trainer, despite his illness. He may be a descendant of Beni, but this has not been confirmed.
