Tepen is an adventurer and antiques salesman that was passionate for excavating ruins when he was younger. He went on adventures and explored ruins together with his friend Diana and they were strung up for a week straight by Ariados. He believed that deceit and theft were his best traits now but his true feelings where shown when his Bronzor's reflected his image back at him like a mirror and highlighted his younger self as an adventurer.

Diana got an ancient text book from him but it turned out to be a fake. She also referred Liko to him to see if he knew anything about the ancient monster balls. He had been approached by a buyer to keep an eye out for them though as they would give him a substantial reward. When Roy showed him his ball, he stole it but they were able to recover it from him before he could give it over to his buyer.

After a confrontation with the some of the crew of from the Rising Volt Tacklers, and Diana, he apologized for stealing the ancient monster ball said he'd work towards returning to exploring ruins again with his Pokémon partners someday.
