Alex owns a large mansion in Rinshin Town that used to belong to his grandfather. The day that Ash Ketchum and his friends were in town, he stopped them on the property and warned them that there was work underway to tear down the mansion, along with the forest on the estate.

When he was a child, there were lots of Kinococo in the forest by the mansion and would often play with Alex and his grandfather. He would come to the mansion often and spend all day playing with Kinococo. Eventually, his grandfather passed away and before he knew it, the Kinococo vanished as well. Ultimately, it was decided that the mansion should be torn down and a new building would be constructed. However, he heard that mysterious things had been happening at the mansion since the work began and he had come that day to investigate.

He managed to stop the demolition of the mansion and decided to live in the mansion with the Shroomish that had fled from the forest after he discovered that they were still living in the area.

Alex's name is not mention in any of the dialog but the original airing closed captions did have his name. The English DVD closed captions do not list his name though.
