Finally completed the Movie 1 Short bgm. Hopefully that's the biggest source of unreleased music in the anime series. I'm fairly sure it is other than a few that might have been used in the earlier movies.

The BGM for Kanto is finally complete! I only need to point out an unreleased track in Episode 80, since I don't have the copy of the episode available right now. There's also another unrelated subject, like I said previously: "I'll bring up a small subject that has to do with one of the unreleased tracks. As soon as I get to finish the behind-the-works of it, I'll expose it here in the thread."

I won't be available to check the track nor I will be able to post about the other unreleased music today, but will do as soon as I get hold of the episodes.

Awesome thanks for your help on this project! The first Kanto series music is now completed! Let me know when you get the time for that unreleased track in PM80 and I'll double check it.

It's during a Rocket Gang scene. First I thought that it might have been from the Movie 1 Short, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

EDIT: It's at 12:54 in the Episode 80.

The only thing to report about the BGM today is that I don't know if what plays in Episode 84, at 02:59 is to be considered as a music or sound effect.

Well, here is the subject I wanted to talk about. While watching a DP episode, I noticed that a slight variation of 1997-1998-M12-1 シオンへの道‐クチバより" (The Road to Shion - From Kuchiba) was playing, instead of the version that's present in the CD "TV Anime Pocket Monsters Original Soundtrack Best 1997-2010". I noticed it before (while watching Kanto episodes to complete the BGM), but back then I didn't pay much attention to it. What I want to say is that we need to upload a sample of that variation, which played in the episodes 24, 28, 29 and of another variation that plays in the episodes 33 and 82.
The actual version from the CD only plays in the episodes 52, 57 and 83.

Uploaded samples for the two. Need to really pay attention when comparing the differences between variation 1 and 2 as its only a slight drum snare/beat difference but I guess it was enough for them to make that distinction as well as they did label it 1997-1998-M12-1 and the other tracks are unreleased. The third variation just seems to be a spliced version of 1 and is a lot easier to identify.

Is the piece in Episode 89, at 15:17, a music or a sound effect? I'm inclined to the latter, but am not totally sure. In the same episode there is an unreleased music for sure, at 17:06.
In Episode 90, at 02:04, 11:40 and 12:32 there are 3 more unknown musics.

It's barely one second, so I agree with you, will classify that as a sound effect.
