For the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Gigantamax Rillaboom—if you’re lucky!

Event Bonuses

• Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
• All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
• Power Spots will refresh more frequently
• Additional Power Spots will be active
• 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
• Up to three Special Trades for the day
• From July 31 at 5:00 p.m. to August 1 at 8:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), the daily Remote Raid limit will increase from 10 to 20

The following bonuses will be active on August 1, 2026, from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

*Trainers can collect Max Particles via the Nearby menu each day by exploring. Adventure Sync can help make sure your distance counts! Keep an eye on the Nearby menu for the icon that shows when Max Particles are ready to collect.
**For these bonuses to apply, Trainers must first collect all Max Particles available in the Nearby menu.

Event Ticket

For US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research.

Timed Research rewards include the following.

• 1 Max Mushroom
• 25,000 XP
• 6,400 Max Particles

You’ll also receive the following bonus.

• 2× XP from Max Battles

This Timed Research will be effective on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends that they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Please note that purchases—including those made for other Trainers—are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.

Please note that this ticket will only be available in the in-game shop until Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. local time.

Where can I find Max Battles?

Max Battles will take great teamwork and only appear at Power Spots that sporadically appear in different locations, so we’re making it easier to find both these battles and other Trainers to help you take them on!

You can visit the Map to see the locations where Max Battles might appear during an event, in addition to those in progress.

You can also filter the map, or check out nearby Events, to show nearby community meetups days in advance, allowing you to plan more seamlessly. These community meetups are hosted by a Community Ambassador, who receives official support to run Pokémon GO events for their communities. If there are no Community Ambassadors near you, you can also search for and find the meetups closest to you.
