Tonio is the great-grandson of the famous Space-Time Tower architect, Gaudy. Tonio has a crush on Alice since they were children. Alice fell off a cliff one day while in the garden and Darkrai saved her. When she awoke, she saw Tonio and believed that he saved her.

Later on in life, Tonio became a scientist and studied Space-Time disturbances. He was instrumental in studying Dialga and Palkia who showed in Álamos Town.
