Cave Island, an island full of caves, is said to house an alternate-colored Crimgan. After happening upon the Dragon type specialist gym leader Ibuki, Satoshi and friends go searching for the Crimgan, but...

Summary:
Satoshi and friends have come to Cave Island so they can meet Pokémon that live in caves. There, they happen to reunite with Ibuki, the Gym Leader of Fusube Gym! Ibuki tells them she had come to the island in order to get an 'alternate-colored Crimgan', but that she got separated from her Kairyu while searching. Satoshi and friends agree to help her search for Kairyu.

Although they managed to safely find Ibuki's Kairyu, it ends up fighting with Iris' Kairyu. And after that, it sets off alongside Ibuki towards a cave deep in the forest in order to continue the search for the alternate-colored Crimgan, but...!?

First things first:
When Gogoat is called from its Poké-Ball, it has the saddles with pockets on it, probably including all the stuff that is usually stored inside. Does it mean that anything can actually be hidden in a Poké-Ball? Not just a Pokémon? o.O

We get to see a shiny Pokémon and the cameo of the Blackthorn Gym's leader, Clair. These two things should automatically make the episode about 20% cooler.
But since I haven't seen the whole Master Quest part of Johto, I can't really compare this to the past encounter with Claire. However, the fact is, that there is a flashback in this episode. And two Dragonites meet, male and female. One would expect these two to explode with love. But the only explosion happening is Dent exploding with unspeakable lameness. I think moments like this are absolutely unnecessary in this anime and it only makes it painful to watch :/

But anyway. In addition to cameo of Clair, there is also a piece of Iris's past revealed, so this is definitely not a filler :)

Rocket Gang has some plot here, but nothing impressive. After that it is one of those typical "A Pokémon got angry so let's calm it by words" moments. I expected a bit more from this episode. The relationship between the two Dragonites also remained unsolved. This episode just feels somehow incomplete. But hopefully if Clair appears again with her new Druddigon, this episode will have some impact on future episodes as well, making it even less filler.

My rating:
Episode containing a fine cameo character and a shiny Pokémon. And even references to some past episodes. However, once again nothing really original happens in this episode. Some waves that irritate Pokémon and an angry Pokémon which needs to be calmed down. I think these things have already happened in many episodes.
I give it 7
You would totally like to be a tree.
