The official Japanese Pokémon website has revealed that Pokémon Scramble U (ポケモンスクランブル U) will feature Near field communication (NFC) figures.

NFC Features

Pokémon Scramble U is the first Nintendo Wii U game to take advantage of the NFC capabilities of the system. Players can place compatible NFC figures on the gamepad reader and that corresponding Pokémon will appear in the game. The figures can be used in other player's games and can retain the progress players made. They can also be raised by obtaining coins within the game.


Pre-Order Deals

For those that pre-ordered the game from a Pokémon Center in Japan, there is two special combo packs that players can purchase. The first one is the game as a download card with a special Pokémon Center Punching Pikachu (PCの“パンチング”ピカチュウ) NFC figure. It's special pre-order price is 1800yen, 200yen cheaper than buying them separately. We have created a list of NFC Promo Figures and it will be updated as they are revealed.


The second combo is the game as a download card with a special Pokémon Center Punching Pikachu as well as Pokémon Scramble U NFC figure carrying case (ポケモンスクランブル U NFCフィギュア キャリングケース). It's special pre-order price is 2380yen, 400yen cheaper than buying them separately. Both combo's are limited supplies and are available for purchase from March 20th, 2013 until supplies end.


People can also just buy the game separately by getting a download card to get the game off of the Nintendo Wii U eShop. The game costs 1800yen on its own.


The Pokémon Scramble U NFC figure carrying case (ポケモンスクランブル U NFCフィギュア キャリングケース) can also be purchased separately for 580yen. The price will go up to 780yen after the introductory period ends. It holds 7 figues, all of the series 1 figures plus the bonus PC Pikachu.


Pokémon Scramble U NFC Figures Series 1 (ポケモンスクランブル U NFCフィギュア)



The Pokémon Scramble U NFC Figures Series 1 (ポケモンスクランブル U NFCフィギュア) set of figures was the first set released for the game on April 24th, 2013. The figures are found in a gachapon machines at the Pokémon Centers in Japan. People could randomly receive a figure for 200 yen. We have created a list of the figures that are available in Series 1 and it will be updated as full details are revealed.
