The producer of Pokémon Masters Yu Sasaki posted an open letter about the game on the Pokémon Master's official website. The letter addresses the upcoming changes to the game.

A Message from the Pokémon Masters EX Team (Vol. 47)

Greetings, Trainers.
We’re the producers of Pokémon Masters EX, Yu Sasaki and Tetsuya Iguchi, here with a new message for you. Today, we’ll focus on details about events beginning around the end of May and the new Sync Pairs that will debut.

Trainers from the Hisui region arrive!

The wait is almost over! At last, Adaman and Irida from the Hisui region will arrive as new Sync Pairs! A rift has suddenly appeared in the sky above Pasio. Also, a man and a woman are having an argument about something in town...

Adaman and Irida star in Story Event Travelers from a Distant Past starting May 30, 2023—we hope you enjoy it. Also, to go along with the event, Adaman and Irida arrive as Master Sync Pairs!

Plus, starting May 30, 2023, you’ll be able to invite Adaman as a Guest to the Trainer Lodge, and starting June 30, 2023, you’ll be able to invite Irida!

To invite Adaman, you’ll need to team up with Adaman & Leafeon first, and to invite Irida, you’ll need to team up with Irida & Glaceon first. We hope you look forward to inviting them.

Adaman & Leafeon

Adaman & Leafeon are a Grass-type tech Sync Pair that can lower the Grass Type Rebuff of all opponents by two ranks.

Their B Razor Leaf Buddy Move, which can be used up to two times, lowers all opponents’ Grass Type Rebuff by one rank and Defense by one stat rank. When the weather is sunny, it also lowers all opponents’ Defense by an additional stat rank.

No Time Like the Present! raises their Attack by six stat ranks, Defense by four stat ranks, and when the weather is sunny, also reduces their Sync Move countdown by one. Synthesis restores their HP by approximately 60% of their maximum HP when the weather is sunny, and one of their Passive Skills increases the power of their moves when the weather is sunny, making them a Sync Pair that really reaps the benefits of sunny weather.

That Passive Skill also makes the weather sunny the first time they enter a battle and also after using their Sync Move, so they can shine without the support of other Sync Pairs.

On top of that, another Passive Skill of theirs turns hits from their moves and Sync Move into critical hits, and another one applies the Free Move Next effect to themselves when landing a critical hit, making them an extremely powerful Sync Pair.

Irida & Glaceon

Irida & Glaceon are an Ice-type tech Sync Pair that have the new Ice Wish move. Ice Wish can create an Ice Zone, which increases the power of Ice-type attacks, and one of their Passive Skills causes a hailstorm when they create an Ice Zone.

This Sync Pair really excels in a hailstorm because their B Ice Beam Buddy Move—which lowers the opponent’s Sp. Def by four stat ranks and applies the Move Gauge Acceleration effect to the allied field of play—can be used. Plus, during a hailstorm, the power of their Great Wide World Ice Beam Sync Move will increase, and another Passive Skill of theirs will power up the moves of all allies and makes the Move Gauge charge quickly. On top of that, Chilled to Your Core!—which raises their Sp. Attack by four stat ranks and their critical-hit rate by three stat ranks—will also apply the Gradual Healing effect to all allies during a hailstorm.

Also, to celebrate the arrival of Adaman and Irida, the Hisui-themed Hisui Style will be added to the Lodge Exchange when Adaman gets added as a Guest to the Trainer Lodge, so we hope you try exchanging for it.

App Update for Late May

In this app update, we made adjustments so when you select the special bonus filter for battles that have special bonuses, they will be sorted by highest bonus effect.

In addition, you can now check how many Scout Points you currently have on the Results screen of Sync Pair Scouts that offer Scout Points, and the inventory limit for items (with some exceptions) has been raised from 99,999 to 999,999.

We plan to keep making these kinds of improvements to the game’s usability, so if you have any requests, please send them via Feedback.

Other Events and Updates

Scheduled from early to mid-June is the return of Story Event A Golden Future, which stars Sygna Suit Morty, as well as a new Solo Event and a Story Event that will feature new Sync Pairs.

Also scheduled for late June is an Ice-Type Gear Event and a Champion Stadium event titled Pasio Special Stadium, in which opponents weak to Ice-type attacks will appear.

Future Updates

The new battle content currently in development that we mentioned in a previous message is scheduled for a July release.

In this content, throughout a total of five battles, you’ll aim for a high score against opponents by fulfilling various conditions that will be set each time the event occurs to increase your score.

There will be conditions such as “time trial” and “remaining HP at the end of battle.” The combinations of these conditions will be used to evaluate how you completed each battle based on certain trends, such as short or long battles and endurance or offense. Training a wide range of Sync Pairs and understanding their capabilities before including them on your teams will be important.

Also, in this event, you can make detailed adjustments to raise the opponent’s strength in each battle, which can raise your score as well. In addition to this, we plan on including challenging conditions to complete that can further raise your score.

If you’re just trying to win battles, the difficulty level will not be that high, but the combination of all these different elements means that there will be practically no limit to how high you can push your score, so we hope you’ll challenge yourself and aim to get your highest score!

Also, as we mentioned in a previous message, a certain type will be chosen each time this content occurs, and you’ll be able to greatly boost your score by including Sync Pairs of the designated type on your teams as you fulfill the conditions we discussed above. Water will be the designated type for the event’s debut. Just like content such as the Champion Stadium, once you use a Sync Pair, you won’t be able to use them in other battles, so we recommend training a lot of Water-type Sync Pairs.

What to Expect in the Next Message

Our next message is scheduled for late June. In it, we plan to share information about new Sync Pairs and events for July.

We’re always working hard to deliver updates and improvements that make the world of Pokémon Masters EX as fun as possible.
Until next time, thank you for playing Pokémon Masters EX.
