Junichi Masuda has been more active lately revealing details about the current 5th generation games Pokémon Black and White on his GameFreak Director's Columns and his recently announced Twitter feed. Below is some of the information he revealed about N and Ghetsis.

Ghetsis

Ghetsis is the one of the Seven Sages and is part of Team Plasma. His name is based off a G/C sharp Tritone, a musical interval that spans three whole tones. The musical note G, pronounce “Ghe” in German (written “G”) and the musical note C sharp, pronounce “tsis” in German (written “Cis”) is a tricode chord and the basis of Ghetsis name.

N

He is the leader of Team Plasma, the main antagonist in Pokémon Black and White and was raised by Ghetsis. Below are the points in order that Mr. Masuda posted on the Japanese blog portion of the Director's Columns.
  • N's name is actually Natural Harmonia Gropius (ナチュラル・ハルモニア・グロピウス)
  • The "N" part of his name comes from the natural number mathematical term.
  • N has a IQ higher than most humans.
  • He is a genius at math
  • He is quick-witted and has intense emotional changes.
  • N can perceive a person's past and future.
  • N's true parents are unknown but it is rumored that he was born by Pokémon.
  • He loves Pokémon and avoids humans.
  • N regards himself as being perfect.
  • N always puts Pokémon first.
  • As N is feared by humans, his connection is strong with Pokémon.

To help promote the 14th Pocket Monsters movies (비크티니와 흑의 영웅 제크로무 / 비크티니와 백의 영웅 레시라무) which will be released in Korea in December, a Shiny Samsamdeurae (삼삼드래) and Gollugeu (골루그) will be distributed from November 3rd, 2011 to January 31st, 2012 via the Korean Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Just like the the Japanese distribution, players that have Pokémon Black can download Samsamdeurae while players of Pokémon White can download Gollugeu.

Also being distributed is the C-Gear Victini skin. It will be available on the Korean Pokémon Global Link from October 6th, 2011 until February 29th, 2012. Our C-Gear Skin page has been updated with the latest information.

MamoswineAlongside the Banette event, a Mamoswine / Mammochon will be distributed over the Global Link in a similar manner. The event will run from October 20, 2011 to January 19, 2012, and the passwords for accessing it will be available in local video game magazines.

The Mamoswine will be level 34 and have the Ability Thick Fat, though its moves and eventual held item are not known.

The password for the UK was revealed on the official website of The Official Nintendo Magazine. The password is: MAMNintendoOfficial
The French password is: MAMNintendoOfficiel
The Spanish password is: MAMNintendoAccion
The Italian password was revealed by the Nintendo Rivista Ufficiale magazine. The password is: MAMNintendoUfficiale
Further passwords will be announced once known.
BanetteFollowing the Italian Banette event, other sites are partnering with Nintendo to present their regional variant of the event.

As already mentioned, the Italian language event is presented by Spaziogames, and the password is BANETSpazioGames
The Spanish language event is presented by 3D Juegos, and the password is BANET3DJuegos
The French language event is presented by Jeux Video, and the password is BRANETJeuxVideo
The English language event, which works with most registered European countries not using the above languages, is presented by Yahoo Games, and the password is BANETYahooGames

The German password will be added once discovered.

BanetteThe previously announced Banette event for the North American Global Link has been revealed to be getting European equivalents. Unlike earlier European Global Link events, these will be unique to the different regional sites, with different passwords required to access them.

First out is the Italian event, which is done in conjunction with Italian gaming website Spaziogames. From October 13th to December 7h, Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version players with their region set to Italy can access the special Banette event on the Pokémon Global Link website with the password: BANETSpazioGames.

Charizard The official UK Nintendo site has updated with information on how to obtain the Charizard C-gear skin, the second of the three skins to feature the final evolved forms of the original Kanto starter trio. Our C-Gear Skin page has been updated with the latest information. Below is the press release.

If you’re a Pokémon Black Version or Pokémon White Version player and fancy giving your C-Gear a whole new appeal, listen up: over late 2011 and early 2012, three special C-Gear skins will be available via the Pokémon Global Link website, absolutely free. Each one of the skins will be available for a limited time only, so make sure you grab them while you can!

Each C-Gear skin has its own unique password; once you have that all you need to do is log in to the Pokémon Global Link website and use the password in the promotions page. This will unlock the skin for you to apply in-game whenever you fancy.

The Charizard C-Skin is available between October 13th 2011 and February 16th 2012 with the following password: EUPGL102011

The official Pokémon website has announced that the first official online Wi-Fi competition will take place from October 12th to October 19th, 2011 via the Global Battle Union. Like the Japan Cup (ジャパンカップ) Wi-Fi tournament, the 2011 Autumn Friendly Wi-FI Competition will be limited to the first 10000 people who register. Below are the full details.

Registration for the Global Battle Union Autumn Friendly Tournament begins October 12th.

Looking for a way to tune up your battling skills? Try a Wi-Fi Battle Competition! The 2011 Autumn Friendly Tournament is an easy way to play against other Trainers around the world. This competition is part of the Global Battle Union, one of the awesome features of the Pokémon Global Link. The tournament is completely free, so don’t miss your chance to show off your Trainer talent!

During the tournament, you’ll play against other Trainers online, using your Nintendo DS system and your Pokémon Black Version or Pokémon White Version game. The better you do, the higher you’ll rank. Then, at the end of the tournament, all the results will be posted to the leaderboards on the Global Battle Union website!

Here are some things you should know when preparing for the 2011 Autumn Friendly Tournament: All battles are Double Battles, meaning two Pokémon from each Trainer’s party will be battling at the same time. You need at least four Pokémon in your Battle Box before each battle, and you can have up to six. All of the Pokémon must be from the Unova Pokédex. Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem cannot be used. When you battle, any Pokémon at Level 51 or higher will automatically become Level 50 for the duration of the battle. Pokémon at Level 49 or lower will not change level.

Registration for the 2011 Autumn Friendly Tournament will be October 12th to 19th via the Global Battle Union. Battles begin October 20th and run through the 24th. Be sure to register early—only the first 10,000 people will be given a place in tournament! To register, you need a Pokémon Trainer Club account and the ability to log in to the Pokémon Global Link. To battle, you need to have access to a wireless Internet connection.

DeerlingThe official Pokémon website has announced the code to unlock the Summer Deerling C-Gear skin at the Pokémon Global Link for the International regions of the weorld. As part of the Tokyo Game Show (東京ゲームショウ), an award show is held to recognize the people that work on Japanese games. On Thursday September 15th, 2011 at 4 o’clock, the "Japanese Game Awards” were held at Makuhari Messe in Japan. Junichi Masuda posted on the GameFreak Director's Column that they had won four awards. Below are the awards that they won.

The official UK Pokémon site has updated with information revaling that the Zoroark C-gear skin, which has been available in North America since September 7th, will be coming to Europe. Our C-Gear page has been updated with the lastest info. It will be updated as soon as new information becomes available.

Use the following password on the Pokémon Global Link website to get the Zoroark C Gear skin. You can then apply the new Zoroark C-Gear skin to your game the next time you use Game Sync!
