The World Hobby Fair '13 Summer (次世代ワールドホビーフェア’13 Summer) took place at Makuhari Messe on June 29th and 30th, 2013. Pokémon had a large booth at the fair this year which included a stage show hosted by Pokémon Smash International Division members Neese and Maru. Two different battles from Pokémon X and Y were showcased which revealed a lot of new details about the moves that the new 6th Generation Pokémon can learn. Our affiliate Serebii has complied a list which is in the table below.

The booth also had artwork displayed from the new movie 16, had a Tretta area, had a TCG area, had a large screen that showed the trailer from the 16th movie and had an area for the FunFest Mission.

The official Pokémon website has revealed that the first ever Pokémon Game Show (ポケモンゲームショー) will be held at Tokyo Big Site (東京ビッグサイト) August 17th, 2013 and August 18th, 2013. Admission is free to the event.

The event will also have playable demos of Pokémon X and Y. People can also play the Pokémon Trading Card game and Pokémon Tretta.

The official Korean website has revealed the full Korean title for the 16th Pocket Monsters movie as Extremespeed Genesect: The Awakening of Mewtwo (신의 속도 게노세크트, 뮤츠의 각성) and it will debut in theaters in December of 2013. To promote this announcement, the Genesect C-Gears for Black and White as well as Black 2 and White 2 will be distributed from June 27th, 2013 at 15:00 until September 3rd, 2013 at 16:00.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced that another Jirachi will be distributed at the Tohoku Pokémon Center from August 1st, 2013 until August 31st, 2013 to celebrate the Tanabata Festival. Players of the Japanese versions of Black, White, Black 2 and White 2 can receive the Jirachi.

picNintendo has posted a press release indicating that cell phone apps like PokéCreator are becoming more prevalent and players of the Pokémon games should not use them. Nintendo also made it very clear that players who are caught using hacked Pokémon in official tournaments will be disqualified and banned from participation in future tournaments. It's unclear why Nintendo has finally decided to make a statement regarding save hacking as PokeSav and fake GTS servers have been around for years. The Pokémon Japanese VGC 2013 tournament was last week though and may have been the reason for the press release.

Nintendo Australia has announced that for the first time, Australia will be competing in the Pokémon Video Game World Championships to be held in Vancouver, Canada. Five State Pokémon Battle Competitions have been announced, the winners of which will travel to Melbourne to compete in the first Australian National Championships. The National Championships will be held at the PAX Australia show which has already sold out; winners and runners-up of the State tournaments will be awarded with tickets to the event along with flights and accommodation.

The press release also indicates that New Zealand players will be able to compete however no competition dates or locations have been announced for New Zealand yet. Full details are below.

Win a Trip to the 2013 Pokémon Video Game World Championships in Vancouver, Canada!

This year, Pokémon fans from around Australia and New Zealand will have the chance to compete in the Pokémon Video Game Australian National Championships, to be held at the sold-out PAX Australia in Melbourne on the 20th and 21st July, 2013.

Players will battle it out on the Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 games utilising the following rules for a chance to win a trip to Vancouver, Canada to compete in the 2013 Pokémon Video Game World Championships to be held on 9th -11th August, 2013. The following age divisions will apply:

•       Junior Division: Born in 2002 or later

•       Senior Division: Born in 1998, 1999, 2000, or 2001

•       Masters Division: Born in 1997 or earlier

Players who place in the top two of their age division will win flights, accommodation and invitation to the Pokémon Video Game World Championships, hosted by The Pokémon Company International.

Hopeful competitors without a ticket to the sold-out PAX Australia will have the opportunity to battle for the chance to win flights, accommodation and entry tickets to the expo plus additional standalone tickets to PAX at a number of Pokémon Meet-ups to be held around Australia in the coming weeks. Pokémon Battle Competitions will take place at the following Pokémon Meet-ups:

•       Perth (Supanova Pop Culture Expo) Sunday 30th June

•       Melbourne (Deakin Edge – Federation Square)  Saturday 6th July

•       Brisbane (Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre) Sunday 7th July

•       Adelaide (AVCon Anime and Video Game Convention) Saturday 13th July

•       Sydney (Luna Park) Sunday 14th July

Players should familiarise themselves with the rules before attending a Pokémon Battle Competition at a Pokémon Meet-Up.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has revealed that four FunFest Mission will be made available at the Pokémon Centers from July 13th, 2013 until September 27th, 2013. In addition, during the same time period, Poké Power SPOT (ポケポワースポット) machines will be distributing Pass Powers.

Find the Pokémon! (ポケモンをさがせ!) - July 1th, 2013 until July 26th, 2013

Eievui and its evolutions up to Generation 5 are located in Hidden Grotto and players are to search and find them. Players that complete the mission will receive 5 Max Repels. Players that complete the mission twice will receive 10 Luxury Balls.

The Great Shopping Strategy! (おかいもの だいさくせん!) - July 27th, 2013 until August 16th, 2013

Player approach a man in black that sells various rare items including: Fire Stone (ほのおのいし), Thunder Stone (かみなりのいし), Water Stone (みずのいし), Leaf Stone (リーフのいし), Star Piece (ほしのかけら), Heart Scale (ハートのウロコ), Gooey Mulch (ねばねばこやし), Sun Stone (たいようのいし), Moon Stone (つきのいし), Relics Vase (こだいのツボ), Rare Candy (ふしぎなアメ), Razor Claw (するどいツメ), Razor Fang (するどいキバ), and Relics Statue (こだいのせきぞう). Players that complete this mission will receive two Stardust. Players that complete the mission by doubling the target amount required will receive two Nuggets.

Find the Pokémon! (ポケモンをさがせ!) - August 17th, 2013 until September 6th, 2013

Poliwag, Magneton, Chansey, Dragonair, Togetic and Shelgon are located in Hidden Grotto and players are to search and find them. Players that complete the mission will randomly receive 3 of the same wings. There are 6 different wings people can receive: Health Wing (たいりょくのハネ), Muscle Wing (きんりょくのハネ), Resist Wing (ていこうのハネ), Genius Wing (ちりょくのハネ), Clever Wing (せいしんのハネ) and Swift Wing (しゅんぱつのハネ). Players that complete the mission twice will 3 of the same vitamins.

Berry Festival! (きのみフェスティバル!) - September 7th, 2013 until September 27th, 2013

Grepa Berry (ウブのみ), Pomeg Berry (ザロクのみ), Qualot Berry (タポルのみ), Kelpsy Berry (ネコブのみ), Tamato Berry (マトマのみ) and Hondew Berry (ロメのみ) are hidden throughout the mission and players need to find the target number of berries. Players that complete the mission will receive 3 Revives. Players that complete the mission by finding twice the target will randomly receive 3 of the same Shards.

McDonalds Japan has revealed a new promotion for their McD de DS (マックでDS) platform called Gather Pokémon Pieces! (ポケモン ピースあつめ!). Patrons of participating McDonalds locations in Japan who bring in their Nintendo DS from July 12th, 2013 until September 5th, 2013 will be able to download the app to their system. Those who collect all 8 puzzle pieces from various McDonalds locations will receive a coupon for a small fries.

Patrons can also receive a special Jirachi for their copies of Pocket Monsters Black, White, Black 2 or White 2 from July 1st, 2013 until July 31st, 2013. This is the first time in 4 years that Jirachi has been distributed.

A line of Pokémon toys will also be distributed with Happy Sets starting July 12th, 2013.

The Pokémon Scramble U NFC Figures Series 3 (ポケモンスクランブル U NFCフィギュア) set of figures was announced today by the official site and it will be released on June 21th, 2013. The figures are found in a gachapon machines at the Pokémon Centers in Japan. People can randomly receive a figure for 200 yen. We have made a list of the figures that will be available in Series 3 which will be updated when the full details are revealed.

Vaniville Town!

Vaniville Town is the players new home at the beginning of their adventure! The start of the players journey waits just past the ornate town gates. Before leaving, the players neighbor will be eager to meet you. Plus, players will meet the family Rhyhorn, who's resting on its pad in their front yard!

Santalune City

After leaving Vaniville Town, the first populated location players will visit is Santalune City. It's a lovely city, easily identifiable by the large fountain at the center of town. It's also home to the Santalune City Gym! Keep an eye out for Alexa, who will guide you toward the Gym, where her younger sister, Viola, is the Gym Leader. Look out for people quickly dashing about on Roller Skates! Alexa is a journalist who works in Lumiose City and travels all around the world for her job.

Santalune City Gym

Pokémon Gyms reflect the particular traits of their Gym Leaders and the Pokémon type those Leaders prefer. The dimly lit Santalune City Gym, where Viola presides, is constructed from web-like threads. The exterior of the Santalune City Gym doesn't reveal much of the true nature of the Gym and its Leader.

Early in your journey, you'll meet four special friends whom you'll encounter frequently throughout your adventure. All five of you will be given Pokémon and Pokédexes for your travels around the Kalos region.

Shauna: Shauna is an energetic girl who is eager to discover her own dreams. But she's also genuinely curious about her friends' progress in their travels!

Tierno: Tierno is burly and nimble, and his goal is to create a dance team with his Pokémon! He pays close attention to Pokémon when they battle to see he if he can incorporate their actions into new dance moves.

Trevor: Trevor's goal is to be the first of the group to complete his Pokédex. He's a great student, bursting with curiosity, but he admits that he has much to learn to become a great Trainer.

Viola: Viola is the Gym Leader of Santalune City, but battling isn't her only talent. She's also a professional Pokémon photographer.

Flabébé Litleo Scatterbug Spewpa

Litleo: The hot-blooded Litleo is always ready for a good fight! Its mane blazes with heat during battle, burning hotter and hotter the stronger its opponent.

Flabébé: Another newly discovered Fairy-type Pokémon, Flabébé clings to a flower early on, and then cares for it for its entire life. Because of this, Flabébé may be found holding flowers of different colors.

Scatterbug: The Bug-type Scatterbug resides mostly in forests and wild plains. After Scatterbug has reached a high enough level, it will evolve into Spewpa.

Spewpa: Spewpa is the middle Pokémon of this evolutionary chain. With enough experience gained from battle, Spewpa will eventually evolve into Vivillon.
